Took wifey out to eat yesterday for her birthday. We had just left OSU Med/James with good news about her chemo treatments, and decided to try J Alexanders off 23. Great atmoshere, steaks were excellent, but they ruin a nice salad with chopped cucumbers. I HATE CUCUMBERS!!

Attn restaurant managers, no cucumbers please!!!

I have to agree with you about the cucumbers. I Like pickles really well, but I don't like cucumbers in a salad and it has been my experience that cucumbers must be really cheap, because every restaurant I've ordered a salad in must have a huge bowl of those suckers back in the salad prep area and a few fistfuls get in my salad as well, until I started telling the server that I'd prefer they hold the cukes. Then I started getting cauliflower until I was sick of that.

Cucumbers are good, but I prefer just slices in my salad, not chopped, as they can overpower other elements of the salad.

Yeah pretty werid I've never seen them chopped up... I like them though but I'd probably would have preferred the slices.

I don't eat salads so I don't know anything.
BUT, when I have to serve a side salad, I have to add diced tomatoes, cabbage, and carrots. Before I got back for summer, we were suppose to spread it across the salad. If I didn't like any of those things, I'd be pissed because they'd be hard as shit to get off. Now we put them in a little group to the side so they'd be easy to get off.
