Yeah..

I just posted this in politics because I figured that's the turn it'll take, but it is bullshit.
Though they are unpopular as well, at least with something like a traffic camera there's some form of evidence available if you want to fight it.

What really was surprising to me was an all Republican body voted overwhelmingly in favor of this (Chief justice, a Democrat, was not a part of it). I'd have assumed they would vote the exact opposite based on the history of Republican Legislators behavior when it comes to transportation issues in the past..

Truth!

What happened to the burden of proof being on the state? This is ridiculous. Let's bleed the citizens of Ohio in every aspect. Taxes, licensing fees, penalties/fines. No wonder the population in this state is shrinking.

Going the legislative route is probably the only way this ruling can be changed. I recommend people contact their state reps and state senators to get them to write a bill that forces cops to produce hard-core evidence before issuing a speeding citation.

If your a douche bag, the judge might stick you on this ruling... I am sure there are lawyers all over Ohio licking their lips as well. A lawyer should be able to get you off a charge of this nature, and I am sure if you have a good record, a judge will take that into consideration. It is actually part of the OSP training to be able to judge a speed within so many miles per hour, but it is still bullshit. First question I would ask is what exactly about my red sports car or my body language suggested I was speeding? The color? The car? My hat backwards???

Where is Trooperden when you need him?

Pure joke. My guess is that this is going to be fought in federal court next?

If the state constitution allows this, what's to say a cop who is 'certified' could determined who murdered someone just by how they act. No proof needed. Or, who stole from a store. No proof needed.

No need to take this to the feds and hope those clowns will overrule us and be more reasonable. They could be just as dickless and then set a national precedence for dicklessness on all 50 states. This ruling is bullshit and most Ohioans know it. Lets take care of it here within our state government. Write or email you state rep and voice your opinion. The state needs money guys. Unless you stand up to them they will get it anyway they can.

Trooperden should be a carny, as in, running a stand where he can guess how fast you drive by. That dude is such an asshole. If he wasn't retired, I have no doubt he would be one of the power trippers jizzing all over the place on this ruling.

Simple solution: Disconnect your Speedometer
Defense in the court room: Per my estimated rate of speed, the feel of the road, the wind resistance, the sound of the engine.. I believed I was traveling at the correct speed Your Honor.
The Office did have a different view of my rate of speed but because I had the advantage of sound and feel over a visual perspective I would have to state that my estimated speed is better qualified via the over all evidences.

Can I go now Your Honor
