per ESPN:
CLEVELAND -- The King has spoken to Larry King.

LeBron James, the NBA's two-time MVP on the cusp of free agency, taped a sit-down interview at his home near Akron on Tuesday with King. The segment will air Friday on CNN's "Larry King Live," capping the program's 25th anniversary celebration on the network.

Other than his postgame interview, James has not talked to the media since the Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics, who then knocked off Orlando and will meet the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals.

It was not immediately known what James discussed with King.

The 25-year-old James heads a star-studded free agency summer class featuring Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer and others. James has not given any hints about his plans, saying only that he and his "team" of advisers will weigh all their options.

The New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and New Jersey Nets are among a group of teams expected to make a strong push for James when free agency opens July 1.

James has spent all seven seasons as a pro with the Cavs, who offered him a contract extension last year and can give him $30 million more than any other team in a maximum-length deal. Cleveland recently fired coach Mike Brown, who led the team to 143 wins the past two seasons but couldn't get them to the finals either year.

On Saturday, former NBA player Darryl Dawkins, who judged an amateur dunk contest with James, said he believed that Cleveland's All-Star should follow his heart.

"He should go where he thinks he'll be happy," said one of the most powerful dunkers in league history. "Make the right decision for your family and get as much money as you can. If he leaves Cleveland, basketball as we know it here is going to go down. They have to do what they can to keep him here. I would like to see him stay in Cleveland, but he has to do what is right for him."
Should be interesting at least.

Of all people he does an interview with Larry King? I wonder what the story is behind that? Larry King just paying him a bunch of money or what?

LBJ told Larry "Cleveland has an edge" in resigning him. I'm waiting for the country to go nuts over the most obvious thing in the world. Of course the Cavs have an edge... he did play there for 7 seasons.

I think Lebron and Delonte should be on Jerry Springer, with a surprise guest appearence by Gloria. It would be much more interesting and entertaining.

I saw that it's the 25 year anniversary of the show, so I'm assuming that had a little to do with it

Roda was reading some of the interview on KNR today. King gets this interview because he is a kiss ass and won't push the issue. Anyhow, Lebron did make a comment that Obama's comment holds some weight...lol

All fine and good but unless they clone Lebron 4x's, he isn't winning a championship with his shit bag supporting cast. So.....his comment really doesn't mean a whole bunch. An "edge" could be 51% in favor of staying, 49% in favor of leaving.

If it were truly a "shit bag supporting cast" they wouldn't come anywhere near 60 wins. The Cavs during the first 4 years of the LeBron era...now THAT was a shitbag supporting cast. The team this year had the talent to get it done....they didn't, it happens in sports all of the time. Only one team can win it all.

Well he took a "shit bag" of a supporting cast to the Finals. He has yet to do that with the better of the supporting casts.

If you people think 30 million doesn't give Cleveland the edge well you are delusional.

The East was a different place back then. If the Cavs still had that roster they would be a 5 seed. If this year's Cavs team played in 2007 they would've rolled through the East and would've contended with that Spurs team.

He COULD but likely won't sign a max deal so that's irrelevant.

Yeah, the East was garbage that year and it a miracle game in Detroit to help get them there. This team would have rolled to the Finals if it was 2007.

Not sure who said they'd roll into the finals, I know I didn't hear anyone saying that. This team was good enough to win the title this year. They did not play well enough in the Boston series to do that.

I never thought we'd roll into the Finals. I contested that Orlando would be our biggest threat in the East. I was wrong on the team, however :)

With that said, these comments are big news because it's coming from LeBron's mouth. He hardly ever talks to the media, despite some people thinking he's a media whore.

LBJ hasn't told us anything we didn't know. Cleveland does have an edge as of right now. Once all the cards have been dealt, then we'll see who really has the edge. Even then, the Cavs will be the leader IMO.
