Votto is out AGAIN, and I'm starting to get a bit worried. At least we've got Miguel Cairo!
Todays lineup....a bit strange....
Cabrera SS
Cairo 1B
Phillips 2B
Bruce RF
Gomes LF
Nix CF
Hernandez C
Janish 3B
Leake P
We're losing a bit of defense in centerfield, but its not as if the Astros are knocking the cover off the ball. But I like the move offensively as we get Nix some ABs without losing Gomes.

I don't like Stubbs getting a day off on the same day as Rolen. Rolen needs his days off....Stubbs does not and he's hitting well of late with good slugging. Nix will do his job well I'm sure, but I'd give the days off to the older players and in blowouts would give Phillips rest.
IT'S AN EXTREMELY LONG SEASON!
All this being said....the Reds are playing great and the central is as bad as I can ever remember it. The Astros are woeful and any Reds combination shouyld win this game.....or is Oswalt pitching?

I do love how Dusty remains insistent with rightyl/lefty/rightly in the midst of the order but has 6 straight righties from #7-#3
Will Cairo remain continue to give Joey Votto nightmares of Wally Pipp?
How long Cairo can keep this up is interesting IMO....it cannot last much longer. There is a reason he has been a role player for 15 years.....but it is fun to watch.

Cairo started off 4/29
His last 5 games he is 12/22
Tell me the last time a Reds player had 12 hits in 5 games.

Very odd lineup. The Astros are bad though, it would be nice to steal a win with the subs in

Break out the brooms they won't touch Leake. Balls will be flying again as it nears 90 in Cinci. I don't think 6 but 3 is attainable.

Leake gets out of a 1st & 2nd 0 out situation after a pretty sweet DP started by Phillips

Great throw from Nix. Not really sure why you would even think about tagging on that though??
Leake is struggling but making the pitches he needs to get outs.

Leake holding the 'Stros scoreless through 4. Unfortunately the Reds haven't been able to put any runs on the board.

Im startin to feel bad for Leake. Dude should be 7-0 after this game. They either blow a huge lead or cant score against shitty teams.

Leake has great control. The lineup is definitely weak today. Need to score Heisey here to get a 1-0 and bring in Coco.

Big spot for Cabrera. If only that sac bunt would've advanced Gomes to 3rd.

Can't win them all I suppose. Huge crowd over the 3 days though, I heard 105,000 for the total. Not too shabby.

^^Yeah Paul and the Cowboy were talking about it during the game. Last night's game looked like a sell out on TV. Nice to see the fans coming out to support the team.

With school getting out and them continuing to play good baseball they should continue to fill em up. Trying to pick a date in July I think to head down and catch one.

Terrible lineup put out there by Dusty. Should have kept at least Stubbs or Rolen in the lineup and only given one of them the day off. I know it is still May, but you can't throw away games like they did today.

The lineup wasn't all that great but to not even be able to score a run against a terrible pitcher isn't on Dusty.

A terrible pitcher doesn't go 8 innings with that stuff.
Is Oswalt a terrible pitcher as well?
