Ours has been on all week. My stepdad is cheap in the winter and our house is usually at like 62 so I freeze my chesties off. But since he likes the cool I luck out in the summer. Thank god b/c there is nothing worse than sweating while getting ready. Hot shower, hot blow dryer, hot flat iron with no ac = makeup melting off my face after 2 minutes.

I'm the exact same way. lol

I didn't turn the air on once last year. We'll see if I can get away with it this year. I do use fans at night if it's still hot but for the most part I don't need air.

I keep mine on 70 in the summer, 73 or 74 in the winter. Seems to work out good. It's been on all week, to answer the original question.

I keep the thermostat on 71 during winter and 73 during warmer months. To me, that's cold, but I get cold easily. Gotta have it that way for my mother, who has alot of breathing problems and it's easier for her when the house is cool.

Our thermostat is usually set at 73 in the "dog days" of Summer, and around 71-72 in the coldest months. it really doesn't differ much. Many days in Spring and Summer we just shut it off completely.

Mines been on for a few weeks now. Earlier this spring it was off, up until the temp climbed to 79-80. I try to keep it around 70-72 at all times.

I live in a closet, so my electric bill isn't that bad lol

When it's cold, I'll turn my heater on to 66.
When it's hot, I'll turn my AC on to 74.

I wish I had this same control right now. I just ran 4 miles during my lunch break; and even with a nice long, cold shower afterward, I'm still miserable. And I work in an air-conditioned office!

I just turned it on yesterday. I think it's set at 73.

In the winter, I don't even turn the shit on. One day the thermostat said 59, and I was in heaven. The wife came home and turned the heat on. I don't understand why people have their heat set in the 70s. Put on some sweats, a hoodie, and some blankets.

You can always put more on to stay warm, but you can't always take enough off to be cool.

Add another one to that list...although...it stays cool in my house...until my wife and son get home and open all the doors and windows of course. But a fan still keeps me pretty cooled off. We do have a window A/C in our bedroom..just b/c I can't sleep when it's hot!

We have it, keep it off as much as possible throughout the summer just like we keep the heat off in the winter as much as possible.

Are we "crazy" and let the house get to 55 in the winter? No, but its not uncommon for our house to be around 62-65.

In the summer the house has to get over 80 probably before we turn it on, and then that's only just before bed for an hour or so to make it bearable to sleep.

We aren't poor, just try to save money anyway we can :).

Get an attic fan and run it after it cools down in the evening. Will cut your bills in half for AC.

73 degrees... we have a choc. lab at home and we want to keep the house comfy for him. I also have allergies... so I prefer to sleep with the windows closed... so I do not get so stuffed up.

72 degrees inside - I don't care what month it is.

At least we have a programmable thermostat - it's set to cool the house down to 72 at 3 pm - stays there until 5 am, and ramps up to 76 by 7 am. The dogs can live with it. :)

We also have one of those whole-house attic fans - it probably saves us 30 days worth of AC a year.

Edit - NoSnow - I feel for you - this spring must have been really rough. :(
