I don't want to make a racial comment.

So I'll make this PG.

He is one dumb thug.

He seems to be pretty intelligent. And where do I invest in Allstar Capital? 85% loan?

That rate there took the cake for me. I bet his agent is rolling in the dough knowing how dumb his client is.

That loan was taken out in Vegas. The one place where dumb ass people will get conned into that much interest for a loan.

You have to be really dumb to lose that much money.

My gf is always like, if you hit the lotto, the money will eventually run out. I'm like R U FKIN SERIOUS? There is TONS of ways to invest a small chuck of it and just live off the interest for the rest of your life PLUS buy things you want without taking out loans.

Agreed. I've always said if I could just get like 5 million I'd be set for life. I always laugh when here about this happening to athletes.

No one else thinks this is kind of sad?

This guy always got by on his body and never had a brain--probably came from nothing and got a bunch handed to him and probably suckered into a lot of things by shady people that just wanted his money. Obviously he's dumb, but not every NBA player is a smart business man. I can't help but feel bad for the guy.

I'll NEVER feel BAD for a guy who can't live off of $10 million annually.

Sad? No.
Retarded? Yes.

Pay a financial advisor $100k a year just to manage your money and you have your problem solved for life.

I will argue in their defense for a second, although I think it's equally ridiculous.

Say an NBA athlete makes $10 in his 5 year career. Figure 10% goes to the agent and 35% goes to taxes. That leaves them around $5-$6 million cash. They are not going to live in a house next door to you and me, so say they spend $1 on a house and pay cash. They give their family some money. Then with their lifestyle you figure they aren't going to dinner at Olive Garden, so they are spending more on leisurely activities.

So although it's pathetic they can't manage to live off of that, it's not the same as me getting $5 million and living off that.

Honestly, I could live just as a luxurious lifestyle as them with that money and not be in debt. Pay an advisor and allocate your funds for consistent growth.

I agree with you, I just think sometimes you need to put it in perspective because it's always not the number you see.

With that said, Eddy Curry is in a different situation. He's still making money and is in debt.

To put that in perspective, he spent $7,610 per day (actually more than that if he's in debt).

Yeah, I'm gonna feel bad for someone who spends 12,000 a year on fucking cable...

I don't care if you're pre-surgery Charly, you spent that much on a cable bill and you deserve everything you get.

If Warren Buffet can live in a normal house, I'm sure Eddy Curry can.

LOL, that's the whole point. He's not he's not smart, he never learned how to manage his money or anything like that. He just got thrown to the wolves.

It's easy for some of you to sit back and say certain things when you've never been in a situation remotely close to his. A lot of you have gone to college, didn't grow up in the hood, were forced to learn how to manage your money, have never gone from broke to a multimillionaire over night. I'm not making excuses for him, some guys go through the same thing and don't end up this way--but some don't. I just feel kinda bad for him, I guarantee a lot of that money was basically stolen from him from some shady people and he wasn't smart enough to figure that out at the time. I don't know, I don't NOT feel bad for someone just because they've made a lot of money--as it's said, mo' money, mo' problems.
