Come on Dusty, why have the extra reliever for four games if you're not going to get a struggling Harang out when he went over a 100 pitches? Get a bench player an AB, get a better SS defensively, and get your new lead-off hitter in the new catalyzing batting order some rest, and let the relievers start with the prospects for a "clean" inning!

I siad Harang shouldn't have been in there in the 6th inning, let alone the damn 7th.

Now the Reds are bout to pay for it.

Christ Dusty.

I honestly don't feel safe with this lead like I normally would. Need to tack on a few.

Dusty wouldn't have to worry about using Masset, Rhodes, and Cordero if he'd start the 7th with his 2nd tier relievers against the AAAA Pirates. Instead he leaves Harang in and three of the first four hitters reach, and are the three runs that make it a tight 2 run game, rather than a 5 run game!

Do you honestly feel safe with a 2 run lead and Cordero coming in to try to get 3 outs with the bases clean?

I meant to say do you honestly "normally feel safe" with a two run lead and Cordero coming in to start the 9th?

Usually yes, but not lately. The pen has been bad the last few games IMO.

Rhodes gets tagged for a solid single to start the 8th(by a lefty even), and bears down hard to get the next three hitters with no runs, and not even a base advanced.

How many MLB pitchers do you know that after their first career appearance have a stat of an infinite number of strike-outs per inning pitched.

Great play by Iwamura and the Pirates to turn Stubbs scorcher into a DP. Doesn't look like any more of a comfortable margin for the Pirates 9th. Stubbs is blossoming in the 7th spot in the order!

Cordero gets a big first pitch ground out.

Stubbs short-armed it due to impending contact with the wall.

Still should have been caught, but I'd rather him pull up a little and not kill himself.

I think he may have dinged up his shoulder and Heisey may get CF for a few games.

Yeah he looked a little gimp after it. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but Heisey is a good sub if it is long term.

I heard the scorekeeper changed his mind and now has called this a hit and an RBI for Phillips.

Yup. Only error according to ESPN's box score is Young's throwing error.
