LOL, was going to say the same thing. Thought maybe he was worth close to $1B, and even then 75% is entirely too much.

Elin won't get more than 50%. If she really asked for $750M, then I'd sign the divorce papers and further dump on her by banging every chick that moves.

I don't know about banging dudes; but I bet his problems were much deeper than initially reported (which is pretty bad considering up to 15 women were reported and allegations of drug abuse).

This is a good theory, what else could he possibly care about not having out in the public.

I think Elin is being very unreasonable, if this is the case. Yes, she was wronged. But to try and get that much money and full custody of their children is ridiculous.

Also, I think that the $750 million includes future alimony/child support, not just what is in his net worth right now.

But here's the thing: If Elin has any dirt on Tiger, then it only proves she knew about this before and she's far, far more embarrassed than angry. I bet she'd become a cold fish and that's part of it.

It would make me chuckle if Tiger was swinging both ways. But any and all dirt will eventually come out, so if you're Tiger why would you give her any extra money to keep quiet? And they have kids, so how much of a bitch would she have to be to dish the dirt on Tiger?

I'm sure there was a pre-nup, which I'm sure her lawyers will look for ways to void. They've been married awhile with 2 kids, I think, so I'm not sure what that is worth. 50% would be some $250M and that seems high. Anything over $50M would be a record divorce settlement.

Of course it includes future expectations...considering his current financial situation because that's all we can use to understand his wealth and potential wealth the $750 million is a ridiculous amount.

If you were worth a billion, how much would you pay to keep that sorta thing quiet? I personally hope she gets every penny she can from that douchebag.

The other thing....alimony and child support will be tied to Tiger's earnings, so any dirt she could dish could considerably harm his future earnings and, therefore, the money she continues to get.

I think Tiger would be hurt more if it came to be true that he was using PED's. And maybe, that is the thing that he doesn't want to come public.

This is simply not true.

Rupert Murdoch's divorce was for over $1 billion.
Michael Jordan's divorce was for over $150 million.
Harrison Ford was for over $118 million.
Steven Spielberg was for over $100 million.
And that's just a partial list.

I guess I must have been looking at only UK divorce settlements. Phill Collins barely topped McCartney's at a little over GBP 25M .

Jordan's @ $162M is an interesting parallel. Long-time marriage with several kids, and he cheated on her. But Tiger's cheating was a gross embarrassment.

So going off of Jordan, I could see Elin getting $250M, plus alimony and child support in the future. But what a ridiculous amount. Simply unbelievable after cutting a check for $250M you'd have to continue to pay alimony.

I don't feel bad for Tiger regardless of the amount he has to pay. You want to play, you gotta pay. And if she writes a book she'll make plenty off of that even if it does trash his potential earnings. (Which would be sweet revenge in my mind.)

I think in certain states that infidelity can not be used in a court of law during a divorce proceeding. Maybe all states.

It can be used as a cause for divorce, but it can't be used in the negotiating of terms.

Good point.
I take it you have never been divorced yourself or been intimately close to a divorce proceedings. Nobody is ever reasonable (particularly the female of our species).
