After 7 action-packed seasons, Jack hangs it up for good tonight - undoubtedly unleashing a barrage of punishment on the bad guys. This show will be missed.
Two hour finale starting at 8:00 ET.:dodgy:

24's really pissed me off about something this season.
Earlier Renee had stabbed Jack, and literally 45 minutes later he was fine.
But now, he got stabbed by a security person he had already knocked to the ground, and all of a sudden he's mortal?
I know that Jack comes back miraculously from a variety of things, but seriously, in the same season, you have the same thing happen with 2 different results?

Great ending tonight. Going to be a long time before we get a show as good as this one again.

Great ending. I was pulling for Jack to off the Russian president though. I know a movie was coming, I figured the next President would get Jack out of jail to assist with the next crisis. Probably hard to do after assassinating a president though. I hope it isn't too long till we see 24 the movie. I've watched this show from season 1, Monday night just got a little worse for me

All in all, a decent ending. Although, to be fair, not that different from previous seasons. I guess I had forgotten they were doing a movie. In that regard, they've set it up very, very well. Although I have to assume we will be left to largely guess about what happens to Taylor, Suborov and Jack.
Still, since I often criticize the writing as "lazy", that was a pretty nice finish. They let Taylor redeem herself, to some extent, and actually wrote a plausible (for a change) way out for Jack.
Other than ending like prior seasons, the final shots were a pretty good "bye". Chloe and Jack shared that moment, but clearly meant for the viewers as well.
And, yes, I'll see the movie the day it comes out. Keifer absolutely made that entire series, because it certainly wasn't the writing or acting talent around him. Really, if you look at it objectively Keifer is like the GOAT for completely carrying that show for 7-8 seasons.

I was thinking a Presidential pardon somehow. But they threw a nice curve. For once, I think I watched an episode of 24 that was almost completely plausible/believable.

Anyone know why the plug got pulled on the show?
Not to get hopes up, but I'm thinking if the movie does well there's a chance the show comes back. On the other hand, if the movie does well, the key players can make almost as much for 6-8 weeks of work as for a whole season of 24. And maybe that's partly the intent. Actually potential if they tighten up the writing a bit to have a James Bond-like franchise.

Thought it was a very good way to end the show. Some very gripping moments throughout the finale which added to everything. If the whole season had been like the last 5 episodes were, show certainly would not have been cancelled.
Actually have 2 movies in the works with the 1st projected for next year but that is still a long time with no Jack Bauer.

Last Summer it was released that this would be the last season, but there was hope that it would get renewed. I loved the episode, I loved the season, and I loved the series. This is probably my second favorite season, behind 5 and slightly above season 2. Dear God, I'm going to miss this show.

Two movies, huh? You know the first is going to leave you pissed off. I'm sure it will end with something ridiculously dumb like "NOOOOO!!!!!! That was only a distraction....Jack still has to foil the REAL plot"

The one thing that always pissed me off is when someone in charge would say "Jack...I should have listened to you from the beginning..." like Pres. Taylor did last night. Uh Yaaa, he's Jack Baurer dumb ass, he's only saved the world like 7 times before this. You would think after about time #3 he would have established some credibility in knowing what he's talking about. But noooo the writers never give his character the credit due. I hope the movie isn't so flimsy in its plot development. Like whoever the new Pres. is when the next terrorist threat arises, (he / she) says "Find me Jack Bauer and listen to whatever he says and then get the F@&k out of his way and let him take care of this shit-storm you idiots have managed to totally screw up to this point!"

the show gets ratings but the plots have gotten stagnant. the last 4 or 5 episodes were what made this show the best on tv. is charles logan the biggest weasel ever on a tv show?

Haha there's an old saying about this.
"If they let Jack do it his way the show would be called 12"

Charles Logan was awesome. He was such a great bad guy and he played that part perfectly.
