The tie-rod on Ford Ranger without warning but luckily while only going 15-20 mph.

The lower ball joint on Mustang with plenty of warning leading up to it but no clue wtf the rubbing/vibration was until it broke while going 10-15 mph.

LOL we have a TSX, and the car is the GOAT, it is a 200 HP 4-Banger that gets 35 MPG on the interstate and can accelerate from 70 to 85 mph better than any car I've driven aside from a 5 series Bimmer. We're not in the market for a 5 series Bimmer, I don't have $80 large ready to spend and it doesn't suit our needs. You drive a decent car like that and you want to slap the people at General Motors.

That said, if I don't have to spend $40 large I'm willing to compromise. But NO GM, our Buick has been nothing but trouble. NO GM.

I have a 2007 TSX and absolutely love it. Too bad the redisgns are garbage with their buck tooth grill idea for the cars. I think it looks good on the MDX though. Pull the trigger on that bad boy.

Clearly you like the MDX from what you've said. If you're looking to save a few bucks, the Pilot is mechanically at least its twin brother as they are built on the same platform. The Acura's engine is a little more souped up, but they're both still 6 cylinders. They get the same gas mileage, have the same safety features, same cargo space as far as cubic feet go.

The MDX is much nicer on the inside as far as the luxury feel goes.

Basically it comes down to whether or not you think a nicer interior makes the car worth the $10-12,000 price premium it carries over a Pilot because really that is all you're paying for given they have the same guts mechanically.

If money is no big thing then the Acura is your guy. If you find yourself willing to live with a little more pedestrian interior, the Pilot is essentially a much cheaper version of the MDX. It all just comes down to what you want to spend and you really can't go wrong either way.




Prices: Base prices for the MDX are from $42,230 to $53,755 with dealer invoice prices for those models ranging from $38,776 to $49,227. Base prices for the Pilot are from $27,895 to $40,245 with dealer invoice prices from $25,282 to $36,442. Add an $810 transportation charge for the MDX, $710 for the Pilot.
