I agree 100% about being more physical but other than that, Pittsburgh is not making the same mistakes as the Caps did. Washington never got traffic in front of the net, all they did was shoot (which isn't a bad thing) in to wide open lanes where Halak can clearly see the puck. Pittsburgh is not doing that at all, they have plenty of people in and around the net, they just can't convert any second chances.

Rock just doesn't believe anyone is on the same level as Pittsburgh apparently and will always have an excuse for a loss. He needs to learn how to put losses on his own team, rather than trying to say the winning team didn't deserve to win.

But, the Caps never got the open nets either, and the Habs defense took them out of their game, much like the Habs are doing now to Pitt. The Habs are in the Pens head, forcing them into mistakes, out think plays.

The Habs may be undersized, but their defense is pretty good at blocking shots, cutting off passes, collapsing to the net, and redirecting clean shots. They also don't turn it over that often.

They are somewhat lucky, but you have to give their defense credit.

That's right, after all the Pens are the DEFENDING Stanley Cup champs! Montreal has played out of their ass, they suck and are not on the same level as Pittsburgh.........PERIOD! Don't like my opinion then don't read my posts!

Again, Pittsburgh's game and style thus far is completely different approach than that of the Caps. Montreal is not in their heads, Crosby even said today if they keep playing this way they will eventually win and score a ton of goals.

I'm not ready to give Montreal credit for the defensive style, if that's what you want to call it. Gill constantly clutches and grabs and "Soupcan" is a a piece of shit.

Going back to wide open nets.........Pittsburgh has either missed them, had a puck skip over a stick or it took a bad bounce, Montreal is not responsible for that, it's poor finishing! The chances are there, the Pens have to do a better job of finishing.

There's no comparison to what Montreal did to the Caps and what's going on in this series other than the lopsided shot totalls. Pittsburgh is snake bitten and maybe they need to create their own breaks by starting to impose their physical will on a much inferior team.

Montreal has played good defense? LMAO!!!!!! What fucking series have you been watching? Pittsburgh has severely outshot them and have had second chances galore. Halak is in no man's land, half the time he doesn't know where the puck is and it's NOT because his defense is clearing them away, Pens can find the net. It's not even close to what happened in that Caps series, they shot the shit out of it and never crashed the net for second chances, Pittsburgh is clearly doing that. Everyone wants to make that comparison when it couldn't be farther from the truth, the Pittsburgh players know they're playing the right way they just can't cash in on those scrums aropund the net and especially the wide open chances Halak is giving up. It's just a matter of time.

Cindy and Jenny two of the best girls in the NHL have what, maybe three pts combined? If not for gm 1 when the canadiens were fatigued from coming back to beat the Caps the high powered Pens have scored 1, 2, 2 counting an empty netter despite throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the net, against a team that finished fourth in their division (the NE division to boot) and the series is tied 2-2.

But yes their D and goaltending sucks. I'll take it.

Pittsburgh has caused havoc in front of the Montreal net, they haven't been able to put their chances away, it's poor execution and some bad luck rather than Montreal's defense. Tell me how Pittsburgh the wonder girls Cindy and Va JJ and co. lost their all-world touch after game one. Just coincidence that after Montreal got rested they were able to limit a team who put six on them to just 4 (not counting the empty) in the next 3 games???

Has zero to do with Halak being good. I don't think Montreal's defense is all-world but they play a bend but don't break style and have focused on shutting down poopy-diaper and his girlfriend and that's what they have done.
