Proyor is an average QB at Osu. Hes just a freak! Thats why he's good. Put him anywhere else, that throws the ball more then runs, hes bad.

Tebow was a very, very efficient quarterback. Pryor is a very inefficient one. Pryor is ten times the athlete though.

If nothing else, he would probably be a better NFL prospect simply by playing WR.

I'm not making this anything other than what's based off of your comments. I would say that Pryor resembles Vince Young or Tony Romo in terms of physical traits. They are both starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Therefore I disagree with your "mold".

You ripped Tebow and Alex Smith, who were first round picks. You pronounce Pryor to be a first round pick before his junior season. If he is THAT GOOD he will not have a Senior season because he is a first round pick already according to you. Junior season should be all he needs to show his NFL QB skills.

My mistake, you did read but you just picked and chose different things out of context and strung them together so that they'd fit your argument. Allow me to clear things up for you.

I said that Smith, like Tebow, came from Urban Meyer's spread offense and was even rated higher than Tebow. Yet Smith has done nothing in the NFL and I would expect Tebow to do the same. Tebow even had better weapons around him and a better defense than Smith.

I said that because Pryor plays in a pro-style offense where he takes snaps from under center, he will be better equipped to adjust to the NFL game than Tebow.....since this is what the thread is about right? Pryor vs. Tebow? Somehow believing that Pryor will make a better QB than Tebow is a preposterous statement despite the fact that I have supported it and the possibility has merited the argument for which this thread was created.

My comments on Russell were solely based upon comments trying to compare him and Pryor which confused me since they share nothing in common other than skin color and position. Feel free to quote when I said teams did not want him. He was the #1 overall pick. He was almost the consensus best quarterback of his draft class. He possesses the strongest throwing arm in the NFL. Why would I say teams didn't want him.

You imply that I don't think NFL teams want black quarterbacks which could not be more opposite than what I was saying. Obviously if you look at the past few draft classes you will see some names in the first round like Vince Young, Josh Freeman, Russell, Jason Campbell, Byron Leftwich, etc. All black quarterbacks taken in the first round. My other comment, if you read, was saying that if Vince Young was taken with a top 5 pick (since he is the player most people compare Pryor to physically....similar size, mobility, arm strength.) that it would not be outlandish for a team to spend a 1st round pick on Pryor.

Not too sure teams would be taking Vince Young in the 1st round knowing what they know now.

The reason Vince is so effective in Tennessee is all about Chris Johnson. Vince is great when he has a running back that he can play off of. No franchise wants the performance of their former #3 overall pick QB to be dependent on a running back.

He's also done a lot worse than MANY 1st round picks. The point is his career has not lived up to being worthy of his 1st round pick at this point, and I can guarantee there isn't a team in the league who would give up a 1st round pick for Vince Young.

If you are looking for 32 TD's to 39INT's for a career with a below average passer rating, then Vince Young is your guy.

What do stats matter as long as games are being won? Vince has a winning record at starting QB. Something people like Jamarcus Russel, Alex Smith, Brady Quinn, David Carr, Tim Couch, Matthew Stafford, Matt Leinart, Jay Cutler, and Jason Cambell cant say.

Brett Farve has something like a 1:1 td to interception ratio, and some people consider him one of the best ever.

I love the argument about whether or not the Wildcat will stay in the NFL for years.

The Wildcat has been in the NFL for decades!

All the Wildcat is is an empty shotgun set. That is it. Teams just have the "QB" run instead of pass. They use the Jet sweep motion to disguise what is going on in the backfield. Some Wildcat teams keep a back in to block for the Wildcat which just makes it a spread run offense. The only thing "new" or "innovative" about it is that the guy who catches the ball is primarily a runner with a small amount of passing threat.

Oh...and Pryor will not be a QB in the pro's. He can't read a defense.

McDaniels has already talked about Tebow's incredible aptitude to learn an offense and to make reads. Pryor has a simplified playbook and has no clue what to do against a defense that can disguise what it does.

Yeah I remember Vince Young completely flaking out and losing his mind and being pretty damn close to being out of the NFL for a while. Vince Young is an average NFL QB at best. I don't see him getting much better as a passer in the near future. If you draft a QB with the #3 overall pick you want him to be better than average, a lot better. If your argument for Pryor is "He can be a good NFL QB. Look at Vince Young" you need a better basis for argument. Because Vince is a starter in the NFL, but an average one. And Pryor is miles away from being a college QB of equivalent stature to Vince Young.
