Is everyone so sure that once JJ is actually ready to contribute, he is going to resign with the Cavs? You keep talking about this plan the Cavs have, yet Hickson has what, 2 years left on his contract?

You have the best player in the game and you haven't resigned him yet, but you are still building for the future? The future is now. You do whatever you can to improve you team, and although they did that with Jameson, they would have been even better with Stoudamire.

And I still don't understand why they drafted the guy from Congo?

Would could be better with Amar'e, but I stood behind Jamison and I'll keep supporting him.

18 and 8 a game will bring a title to Cleveland.

It very well might bring a title, and he's obviously an upgrade. I'm not disagreeing with that. I just didn't understand the reluctance to deal Hickson when I knew he'd be riding the pine come playoff time.

Because he won't be riding the pine next season with the possible retirement of both Z and Shaq. If Cleveland knew they could hold on to a kid who has massive potential and pick up a player like Jamison, its not even a thought you make the deal right now. LeBron loves JJ and the organization has been behind JJ since they drafted him. He will be a big part of Cleveland's team soon. If you would know this as many Cavaliers fans do, then you will understand the reluctance to deal JJ. They believe he will be very good soon.

Because they probably didn't see a big difference between Amare and Jamison. I think that's fair to believe that way. They got to hold onto a guy THEY believe will be good in the future. Two birds with one stone type of thing.
