first game, Denver at Jacksonville. I know, Tim will not play. 3rd string. He gets to learn before he needs to play. Lots of experts predicted late first-early 2nd round, just where he went.
Kiper and Mcshay are so pissed, they look stupid AGAIN because Colt and Clausen are still waiting. They ought to become weather forecasters.

Like any of us would do better. Fuck, look at all the crazy GM's making picks where you scratch their head. Nobody is a mind reader. Most people are going to look smart at one point, but stupid at other times. It's just that McFag and Kiper are arrogant on ESPN, so it's easy to dislike them.

you don't know how good any player will be until they play in the league, for qb's it is especially had to tell if they go to a crappy team...tebow went to a decent team, not like the broncos are the lions right now, if he becomes a starter somewhere down the road it was a good pick

Not exactly true.

Brady Quinn was a starter at some point as well, wouldn't call that pick by the browns to be a good pick.

I mean...there is no way that any conventional wisdom would have an Orton and a Quinn and a newly drafted Tebow on the same staff....I think that only means one of three things:
1. Brady is as big of a douche as we all thought,,,and he will never be in the NFL.
2. Orton is damaged goods. Release him.
3. Tebow is trade bait; let us see what plays out with the whole Ben thing...and see where Mccoy and Clausson land and then we will make a package deal.

that is the only rationalization that I can make of the whole thing.

Usually you have your rookie QB ride the pine for a season or two and learn the game from the veteran QBs on the roster. Tebow will be learning the game from Orton and Quinn? Good luck Tim.

IMO this is a case of a brash,young coach hoping to make his mark on the game by taking a gamble on a kid who many think doesn't have the tools to play QB in the league....Tebow's upside is that he won't embarass the team or the league,and who knows--he may pan out and McDaniels will look like a genius. BUT,there is a flip side--only time will tell...

There was a lot of talk about Belichick wanting Tebow, he and Meyer are close friends. Josh McDaniels worked for Belichick. He will have some ideas how to use Tebow.

Therein lies the problem. You don't spend a first round pick on a qb with "some ideas how to use him." You pick him in the hopes of finding a franchise qb for the next 10 years. If they saw that in him, they were the only ones.
