Tressel will cut his ties to this kid. Turner was riding around late at night with his 32 year old "friend", who spent several years in prison for drug dealing & weapons violations ,while having guns & drugs in the car & getting shot at "for no reason" , :p

The kid is a cancer. Will never play for Ohio St.

SQ, I've lived in Ytown for 31 years never been shot. People in Salem may think you get shot just because but that isn't true.

Now about Turner. I talked to coach from UHS when he got the offer from OSU, and he said that kid will be kicked out of school before classes start. That was before all the problems started. I just wish someone could get through to this kid. I know Tress has tried, and he keeps doing stupid shit what a waste.

I never like to make a judgement without knowing all details...but this kid just doesn't sit well with me based on everything I have read..and he still is hanging with thugs. Not good news.
honestly for some people everyone in their family and neighborhood has weed and guns on them at all times.....my dads side of the family all carry guns and probably have a lil bit on them all the time....they arent bad people its just a way of life in some neighborhoods. and you can get shot for no reason. two of our middle school students got shot a few months back by some guys getting initiated into a gang. their task was to shoot someone(allegedly)

If Jim Tressel learned anything from the Maurice Clarrett fiasco he will pull this kid's scholarship. The kid has had numerous chances and pissed them all away. As far as getting shot in Ytown? Anything can happen anywhere, not just in Youngstown.

There are plenty of worthy kids that would love the opportunity Turner has been blessed with. I don't care what this kids background is, he knows the difference between right and wrong. If he couldn't make the good decisions to keep his butt out of trouble before he got to Columbus, then he can stay in his neighbor hood and continue to live his lifestyle. With that being said, I wish this kid luck so he can be a productive member of society.

Very true, but if you want to ignore the fact that Youngstown was ranked in the top 10 most dangerous cities in the US, then that's your fault.

And don't come back at me and say I'm trying to give the kid a break, I'm not. But Youngstown is just not a good place for anyone to grow up. Shit happens, I hope we pull the scholarship too but I'm not going to be a dick about it--I'd rather see him turn his life around somehow than become a drunk and just continue to add to the Youngstown problem.

It appears Turner has been shot again according to scout and buckeyeplanet insiders.... this time the insiders say he has been shot 7 times and is not expected to make it.

Apparently he was in his house and someone entered and shot and killed a female family member of and shot him... he is in critical condition, according to people on scout.

I hope he makes it too, but I also hope if he does, Tressel gets him off the team ASAP. We don't need another Clarette, and we sure as hell don't want to turn OSU into an SEC program.

An unfortunate story in a world seemingly filled with more and more stories just like this one. All of the evidence seems to point in a very bad direction for the young man in question. I tend to agree with the poster who said that he feels that Coach Tressel is simply waiting to assess all the information regarding this before making a final decision. I have faith that he (Coach T), will do the right thing when the whole story is out. You and I aren't always totally sure of what the story really is and I trust the coaching staff and the university to make the appropriate call when the time is right.

word around the camp fire is ,the guy that did the shooting was the boy friend of the girl who was killed. from my what i hear they dont think turner will make it. i wish him and his family the best.

It's being reported on OSU's Scout message board that Turner has passed away. I haven't seen a link to confirm it, but whatever the case may be, this is such a sad situation.

EDIT: Apparently the Bucknuts report that Turner had passed away due to his injuries has been retracted.
