Hell of a football player, hope it doesn't affect his ability.

I wouldn't read too much into this until there are more details. If he deserves to have his scholly pulled then I hope we do it. But all we know from that is that he got shot in the Youngstown area. You don't have to be doing anything wrong to be shot in Youngstown.

um no it isnt. maybe if he would went to school attended classes instead of hangin out with thugs this might not never of occured.

This. I'm friends with a bunch of guys that graduated a couple years ahead of him at Ursuline and said he would never go to class and basically fucked up the opportunities handed to him, at least before military school. Doesn't sound like things have changed.

WTF are you guys basing this on?

By all accounts he cleaned himself up and was doing well at his new school.

Like I said, you don't have to be doing anything wrong to get shot in Youngstown. You know that leps.

Hell, I was in Youngstown just once working on a summer job and almost got shot because I didn't belong to a union.

I'm sure it was just a big misunderstanding. Jamel was probably on his way to read stories down at the orphanage when some thugs, for no apparent reason, decided to shoot him...twice.

This. Is it also possible that he could have been shot because he has cleaned himself up? If he was running around with the wrong crowd, then went to Fork Union and cleaned himself up, returned back home, jealousy sets in. But who knows until the story comes out.

Anything can and does happen in Youngstown. The economic decline is appalling. It's so bad the plywood on boarded up houses and businesses needs replaced as it's worn out. Who the hell knows what the situation is.

Umm he left Fork Union without graduating... he still doesn't have a diploma. Left do to an "unspecified wrong doing". Not to mention they found guns and weed in the vehicle he was in. Good riddance, give the scholarship to someone who wants it.

This. You guys just don't want to admit that OSU signed a thug. Every one of you would be going on and on about how Urban Meyer signs "thugs" if this were a Florida recruit.

Its really not that big of a deal, every program signs a shady player at some point. Just deal with it appropriately and move on. You guys acting like he's cleaned his act up are either in denial or ignorant to the facts.

This will most likely happen. Tressel is probably just waiting for all the facts to come out before he pulls the schollie, but I am certain that he is already planning on doing it, it is just a matter of when.
