LMFAO! You have to be kidding...Yuengling sells as much beer as Sam Adams in a 1/5th as many states. It's because it's fucking good, period. If you don't like it, whatever, but it doesn't mean there is some weird reason why it's popular. Has nothing to do with it not being sold here. That might be why people get excited about it, because it's a road trip to go get it, but that isn't why people go get it.

Had me a Yuengling draft with Angel this spring in Englewood, Florida just to see what all the Chatter was about it. Not a bad beer. Then again, if it's cold, I'll drink most any beer!

I kinda got tired of it. My gf's parents would buy me like 5 or 6 cases of it everytime I went up there to visit or they come down here (they live in upstate NY). I still have like 3 cases of it.

I've never had it, but I remember what a beer tasting friend of mine said about it. He was at a place in Florida and they didn't have a wide beer selection. He said 'at least they had Yuengling'...meaning he had to settle for it.

I'm kinda a beer snob and I'd like to try it one day just to see what all the fuss is about. I'm afraid I'll be disappointed with it due to people 'pumping it up'.

lol oh I'll drink it eventually. They are the cases they got me for my bday in Feb. I have to drink them before they come out again in June.

With as much as I get cases of Yuengling I have become a big fan of the Yuengling Light. It's pretty good and a lot easier to drink 6-7 while hanging out with friends

Well it's not meant to be a specialty beer or a craft beer, so I think once you get that stigma out of your mind, it's a pretty good lager.

It is popular because it is the cheapest domestic 'good beer', it actually has a taste to it (even the Light brand isn't that watered down, I'm not personally a fan of the black and tan - mainly because I find the concept of black and tan heresy) and for the price point it is hard to justify paying $5-$7 more per 12 pack if you're just having a beer or two watching a game or hanging out in the backyard. I wouldn't call it one of my 10 or even 20 favorite beers, but I always pick some up for a BBQ or other get-together.

I didn't realize it wasn't available in Ohio, it certainly is in Virginia and is always available at local festivals/concerts/etc.

Thanks LJ, that's a good point. Truth be known I'm not much of a Lager fan as I am more into Ales. And for the record Sam Adams Lager is my least favorite selection from them.

I just notice some people talk it up like it's better than craft beer. I should say people here in my area since we can't get it. They act as if 'I've had it and since I have I'm better than you"...:P

I think it's pretty good, but its not much better than bud light. I don't really get the fascination with it either, and if it was available in Ohio I'd probably buy it every now and then, but I'd much rather just go to a bar and do jaeger bombs.

Also, personal taste isn't the question here--name any product available and there is someone out there who doesn't like it.

But it isn't popular just because it's not sold here. It's popular because it's good beer.

If one maintains that either is better than "OK", one has the taste of a Cincinnati Dancing Pig, and I don't care how much of it either one sells. They're both refinery beers, decent ones in that category, but nothing more.

If a company has a super popular product, with as high as a demand as you say, then would be going global and trying to make as much money as possible. Clearly, the owners of the company know they have a small niche beer and have already sucked in most of their market, so they won't be expanding production to incorporate more states.

Truth hurts, your beer is average. LOL

Who said anything about it being my beer? Like I said dipshit, don't let personal taste get in the way--I haven't. The numbers simply don't lie. I've often asked the question myself, but guess what--it's their company, they can do what they want. The funny thing is, most of their sales come in Sam Adams' backyard. They're also the oldest brewery in America, they could have expanded loooooong ago. Maybe that isn't what they're interested in. But you're right, they've sucked up most of their market...

50 states>11 states
Sales are pretty much equal.
