And Detroit is getting owned in the Joe.
3-1 Coyotes now off a 2 on 1. Nice move.
11:30 left.
And, Doan is out, has been since the 1st.

Phx outlasts the Detroit onslaught at the end to win 4-2 and take a 2-1 series lead.
Nice job Coyotes. Whenever it looked like Detroit would rise up and take control, Phx just shut the door and scored quick goals.

Miserable game from the Wings today. Just played awful and allowed Phoenix to sit back and not forecheck at all, which made it basically impossible to even get into the offensive zone. Howard was bad and if he isn't better Tuesday or gives up another crappy goal, Ozzie will go in. Better get their heads on straight before then because today was embarrasing.

Flyers and Devils in OT, tied at 2.
Pens pretty much has it sealed, up 4-1 in the 3rd.

Flyers Carcillo get one off a rebound close in OT, just as a PP expires. Win 3-2 in OT.
Flyers up 2-1 in the series.
Hawks and Preds are 0-0 halfway through the 1st.

This Predators Hawks game is a good one.
Still scoreless halfway thru the 2nd. Ton of scoring chances for Nashville but Chicago has made some HUGE saves.

Very nice tic-tac-toe movement and goal by the Hawks on the powerplay.
1-0 Chicago, 11 left in 2nd.
This has been a great game, back and forth.

Hawks get a nice goal in the 3rd to go up 2-0, and hang on in a good, solid game. Good hits, good defense, good saves, and good hockey. Both goalies played really well tonight.
Series is tied at 1.
Avs and Sharks are scoreless near the end of 2.

Avs and Sharks are scoreless going into OT. It has been an awesome third period with so many chances by the Sharks. SOG are 50-15 Sharks. That is goaltending. Craig Anderson, the Avs goalie has the playoff record for shots faced without a goal in 3 period. Great stuff.
West conference hockey is so good. Both the Hawks and the Sharks games have been great defensive, solid, hard hitting games.

Detroit is just being Detroit. They have a thing for making it as difficult as possible before sneaking past teams like Phoenix in 7. The problem is that teams like Phoenix aren't that bad and when Detroit doesn't come to play, they sometimes don't get the win. Few teams other than Detroit could scorch the opponents' net for seven goals to even the series, come home with all the momentum in the world and stink the place up, but it's a regular event in Detroit. I fully understand that the Wings have been one of the premier hockey franchises in the history of the NHL but it's still so frustrating to watch them play. I've followed them faithfully since they were one of the "Original Six" and there have been many times when I have been dismayed by the way they continually make things hard on themselves.

Wow, anticlimatic as Dan Boyle of SJ shot a shot into his own goal less than a minute into OT.
Avs win and take a 2-1 series lead. Apparently the curse of the Sharks in the playoffs continue.

Avs were playing w/ fire the entire 3rd, but Anderson deserved the win as much as or more than anyone on SJ.....

I'll take Caps, Bruins, Kings tonight. Caps b/c they just the better team (although they've had their heads in their asses for the first two games), Bruins b/c they're back at home and Vanek is out, and Kings b/c Luongo, despite taking the first two games to OT, is off his game.
