Didn't Crosby only have one goal in the 8 seed Montreal series? Is that really winning big games on a routine basis?

Let me refresh your memory:

Does Ovechkin have one of those? I believe Crosby has won EIGHT playoff series in his career (one of them head to head against Ovechkin)........oh, and then there was this too:

Any other questions?

The teams win the games, not one player. You also said he wins big games on a ROUTINE basis. Are the 2010 playoffs exempt from "routine" for some reason?

^^^^^He does win big games on a routine basis, his body of work proves that. You can't win a title every year, especially in hockey. You're just trying to be difficult or you're a blinded hater. Teams do win together but you can't honestly tell me with a straight face that the Pens would have this much success with out Crosby.

Didn't you see that gutsy game 7 performance by the Pens, lol??? That's all on the leadership of the captain. Playing with no heart in front of the home crowd is the kind of effort you get when your captain spends the final minutes of Game 7 SCFs in the locker room.

Cindy is routinely a no-show in big games unless you count bitching and moaning. He recieved a beautiful pass from the real star of Team Canada and buried the shot. Of course the hockey experts at ESPN gave Cindy (Never once mentioning who made the first part of that play) all the glory despite the fact that he was a no show the entire Olympics until that point. Cindy has the habit of going missing for looooong stretches when the season is on the line.

The Pens are a good team with the most overrated player in the league. Not saying that Cindy isn't one of the best in the league, but there are plenty of players just as good or better and there are ones who thoroughly outclass poopy-diaper when it comes to being a clutch player.

Take a look at Camellari, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Gagne, Briere and on and on. Players who the casual fan probably doesn't recognize, but who routinely come up big in big games. Cindy not so much. Does ONE goal off of a sweet pass and terrible defense cement Cindy's clutch status??? Hell no.

If you believe the hype that Bettman and ESPN try to sell then you don't watch many big games.

Why would ESPN try and sell Sidney if they don't show their games? ESPN rarely, if ever talks hockey.

BTW, 0-0 Sharks and Hawks in a good game.

Sharks on the PP, get a nice top shelf goal.
1-0 Sharks, 8:30 left in the 1st.

Ever catch an episode of SportsCenter? They feed the perception that only big names like A-Rod, Jeter, Texiera, LeBron, Kobe, Manning, Favre, Cindy, OV exist in sports.

I'm not saying they care if you watch Cindy, but since he is Bettman's main investment and therefore a household name, when they talk hockey they only focus on Cindy or OV.

I'm not trying to difficult nor am I a hater. But to say that HE wins big games is false. It will be like saying that Robert Horry is the reason the Rockets, Lakers and Spurs won NBA titles. He is just a part of the team, not the reason they win, although he is the common denominator. But most would argue that he was never the main reason those teams won. The Pittsurgh Penguins have been winning big games. In a couple of years once Jonathan Toews has 5 years in a the league we can compare playoff series wins. Toews and Kane will be ahead for that matter. Does that mean they are better than Crosby, no. BECAUSE IT IS A TEAM GAME.

2-1 Blackhawks!

Byfuglien scores off face-off in the offensive zone.

What a fantastic road game for the Hawks.

Niemi was unreal, and they were able to shutdown the top line from the Sharks.

The Hawks depth is going to be tough for the Sharks to overcome if the Antii-dote keeps playing like this.

We can agree to disagree. Take Crosby out of the mix and the Pens would simply not be as successful, teams could key on Malkin's line exclusively. Crosby is a winner, he wills himself and his team to win, sometimes you come up short but more times than not it's Crosby who puts the team on his back and leads them to victory.

Flyers are the hottest team going right now.

Really want Montreal though Hawks and Habs would be an unreal finals, Original Six and rabid, hungry fanbases.

Habs have gotten destroyd in gm1 this round and last. I'm not sure what happened in gm1 vs WSH but they may have taken it on the chin then too.

I'm not reading too much into this loss as it hasn't been indicitive of whether or not the Habs will win the series.
