Geesh, third straight PP for the Preds. Good back and forth action.

Blackhawks hang on for the 5-3 win (empty netter with 7 seconds left by Madden). Vancouver up next.

Hawks with the kill and the empty netter to seal it. The Hawks join the Sharks and Canucks in the next round in the West.
One second round matchup known in the West.
2. Hawks vs. 3. Canucks.
Good solid series by the Preds and the Hawks looked shaky, but faced a tough divisional foe who knew them.
The 1. Sharks will get the winner of tomorrow nights game 7 between 4. Coyotes and 5. Wings.

Bizarrely, the Penguins could possibly be the top seed standing in the East after this round. #2 and #3 are eliminated, while #1 is tied 3-3 with #8. That's the great thing about the NHL. It's rare that you don't have insane suspense in even the biggest "on paper" mismatches. Like how in Pittsburgh's first Lemieux Cup, they beat #8 Minnesota -- a team that was mediocre in the regular season, but caught fire in the playoffs, beat some great powers and gave the Pens all they could handle before falling. You just never can predict what will happen!

Wasnt it the 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs where EVERY higher seeded team in the West lost the opening round? I think Edmonton was the 8 seed and beat the 6 or 7 seed Anaheim Ducks to make the finals. Carolina I know was a top 3 seed in the East and took the finals in 7 games.

The Hawks pulled it out, Nashville was a tought 1st round opponent. I got the Canucks winning the cup.slingshot4ever wrote:You don't think they can win a game 7 at home? Just another of the many haters.gerb131 wrote: If Chicago can't close it out here, I think they lose a game 7.

You are correct. If Roloson didn't get hurt in game 1 the Oilers had a chance at winning the cup in 6 games.Laley23 wrote: Wasnt it the 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs where EVERY higher seeded team in the West lost the opening round? In that Nashville/Chicago series, Suter/Weber showed everyone why they're the best dman pairing.

Funny story, I'm walking my dog this weekend when who do I see pulling out of the luxury condo building next door to my crap apartment? Milan Lucic. Rockin the GMC SUV. Apparently I've lived next to him for months and had no idea.

That is awesome.
1 game tonight, and it is a big one.
9:00pm Game 7: 5. Wings at 4. Coyotes. Series tied 3-3. Game on Vs.
I am slightly leaning Wings due to their experience and inexperience of the Coyotes. Yet, I can see the Coyotes winning as it is so hard to win a game 7 on the road.
Should be a great game though.

Take the Yotes in game 7 as I think Jimmy Howard is vulnerable at this point.

No Shane Doan again tonight so that helps the Wings out as he is the inspirational and vocal leader of that team. Not worried about Howard at all as 4 of the 5 goals from game six were not his fault one bit. Whoever scores first will win which worries the hell out of me. An early goal or two would be great for the Wings to force the Coyotes to open up a bit and get out of that trap they play when they have the lead.
It's game 7 so everything is really out the window. Win or go home.
GO WINGS!!!

End of 1, scoreless. Gotta think that favors the Coyotes.
But, the Wings have had plenty of chances. They have owned puck possession and when the Coyotes had the PP, it was really ineffective.

Coyotes Bryzgalov is having a great game, but Datsyuk gets 1 on the PP.
1-0 Wings, 17:40 left in the 2nd.

Datsyuk again, behind the defense. Awful defense.
2-0 Wings. That may, just may do it.

Pavel Datsuyk isnt as big of a scorer as Zet in the playoffs, but man he seems to be very clutch.

Right off the face off, Phx gets it in. Very nice. Howard had no shot.
2-1, Coyotes still alive.
11:37 left in 2nd.

Leaving Bryzgalov on an island it could be easily 4 or 5 to 1. Thought Phoenix could ride the emotions and pull it off but I guess I should know not to go against the winged wheel. Games not over but somethings going to have to change in a hurry.

Coyotes had their best shot, 5-3, but no luck.
Still on the PP
That should be a penalty for the net being forced off.
