I think Tebow would be good for the Steelers. He might not make it with certain teams but in the right place I think he has a chance to be pretty good.

The fact that you are saying to trade a proven winner franchise quaterback in order to draft someone who hasn't even shown that he can work out from under center. That is the joke. I would say that would be one of the dumbest moves in football history.

You have a QB with serious issues that is tarnishing the reputation of your franchise. At some point I don't think it's even worth winning again with this guy leading the team. At the rate he's going he could end up in prison in another year or two.

I've been a big fan and I know it would be hard to accept, given the success and two Super Bowls, but I think the ship has sunk.

You're not going to trade him for one player but if you can get a package of picks then you would obviously take another QB to go along with Dixon and then another player high in the draft.

It's not worth it this season. Bradford is the only QB worth doing it for. I do think his time is limited in Pittsburgh, but they aren't going to ship him off on a whim unless they can get a proven QB in return or there is someone spectacular ready to step in available in the draft. With how hard it is to get a GOOD QB in this league, it won't happen, and it would be a bad move at this point.

I think Bradford is overrated. He played in the wide open Big 12 and barely got touched. The few times he got hit he was knocked out. One game against Baltimore or the Jets or the tough teams the Steelers have to face and that will be it for Bradford. I'd rather they do their own homework and take the player that they like best, not what the others say. Personally, I think it would be Tebow for many of the reasons I mentioned above. Back in December I wasn't quite sure about him but I like what he's shown, particularly the work ethic and obvious improvements to his footwork, release and so forth, in the past few months.

You're right, though, that they will not be a Super Bowl contender without Roethlisberger next season. If Dixon, Batch, Tebow or Bradford is the QB, they won't have a chance.

If that's still their goal then Roethlisberger has to get through these troubles and the likely suspension and get back in the lineup. They already hurt themselves for 2010, though, by getting rid of Holmes. So they already sent that message that it's not as important as cleaning up their image.

Getting rid of Roethlishberger without a true sucession plan will set them back the furthest. Tim Tebow will be nothing better than :"somewhat decent". He is not a Roethlisberger replacement and should not be looked at as such. He played in a spread offense and never played under center. He will turn out to be the next Vince Young, and while I hate this saying, you can take that to the bank.

Vince Young is actually a good example for Tebow.

The Titans clearly can be a playoff contending team with Young at QB and more of a running offense. That's more like how the Steelers used to be until the past few years with Arians. Tebow can be every bit as successful in the NFL as Vince Young.

If the Steelers traded Roethlisberger for a couple draft picks, Dennis Dixon would still be the starter next season. But they would likely take another QB. Maybe not in the first round but in the second or third to add to the mix. It's not how you're saying. They wouldn't replace Ben with a rookie in 2010.

I certainly thought they had a chance to bounce back next season and contend again but I'm not sure that's going to happen now anyway.

They traded Holmes with only the intention of trying to reclaim their image. You can applaud that but it was stupid what they got in return from the football side of it. Holmes had a good rapport with Ben. He caught a lot of quick slants and hot reads and then made a lot of big plays, too. I don't think they'll be able to replace him this upcoming season.

If they were that focused on winning next season they shouldn't have made a knee-jerk decision with the Holmes trade. And if they're that focused on reclaiming their image then what's the point of kinda doing that but not really. Ben is a big part of their image problem.
