a friend of mine who is a teacher there said that many of the kids are so upset by this that they actually hold "basement dance parties" in lieu of attending the school dances--seriously!!!

Maybe I'm not understanding the ideas of dancing, but when I went to homecoming and prom dances, I felt more like I was getting lap dances as opposed to dancing. The first time I was introduced to the "dirty dancing," I was at the 7th grade dance, and I was pretty shocked because it just looked like a massive orgy with a bunch of 13 year old kids. I really think something needs to be done about it.

It is definitely a moral issue, because if I had a daughter, I would want her to respect herself a little more than dry humping a bunch of different guys while wearing a skimpy outfit.

I don't understand what the big deal is with waiting till you are 21, then you can go to bars and do whatever you want. It is a whole 3 years. I'm 23, and I can honestly say I learned a lot since I was 17. It is not that bad to ask that these kids act classy at what is supposed to be a classy event for 3 hrs, then the people that want to grind on each other can throw an after party and dry hump each others' brains out.

Also, they aren't just talking about banning the "sexually suggestive" dancing, they are looking to ban any and all fast dancing.

1. That woman in the video needs beat about her head and shoulders for letting those kids carry on like that.

2. Is it any wonder that we have 12 year old little girls having babies?

*My post isn't directed at anybody, but it's really disheartening to see little kids "dancing" like that.

That's too far for sure, they just need to ban, and seriously enforce with possible suspensions, etc, the sex with clothes on dancing.

This is the exact same issue I remember when I was in high school. (graduated in '05)

One of the teachers who hadn't chaperoned a dance in a while had a few classic quotes the next Monday:
"Next time i'm bringing a stick, i'm not sticking my hand in there to break that up"
"When I was in high school we waited till after the dance to do that stuff:

But its just kids being kids, No real harm is coming of this.

Big Time over reaction by the LV school board here. The kids are being chaperoned at school dances. They will push these kids to avoid the school dances entirely and just go do their own thing. I do believe this is a generation issue. Dont bring the "sexting" thing up either. This is not that different from the original Dirty Dancing, as the original poster mentioned. We all realized how stupid that school system seemed. LV needs to get their heads out of the barns and into 2010.

You're right, none. That's cause I've never watched it. Because I'm not a woman.
