Western Conference standings as of right now:

1. SJ 87pts
2. Chicago 83pts
3. Canucks 72pts
4. Phoenix 77pts
5. LA 75pts
6. Avs 72pts
7. Nashville 67pts
8. Calgary 67pts
-----------------------------
9. Detroit 65pts
10. Dallas 64pts
11. Anaheim 63pts (Getzlaf is DTD)
12. Minnesota 62pts
13. St. louis 61pts
14. CBJ 57pts

It's going to be nearly impossible for the jackets to make the playoffs.

I think the real question to be focused on is "Who is the real Steve Mason?" Is he just having a sophomore slump or has the league figured him out? I have a feeling it is the latter. Beyond that, how do you expect to win with a team that quit on their coach because they didn't like him? Factor in that Howson has made some horrible moves and stuck the team with some nasy contracts and playoffs should be the furthest from anyone's mind. They have to right this ship quick on they will remain at the bottom of the standings for a long time.

Reality is going to set in fast. The next 3 games are against San Jose, Chicago and Vancouver, 3 of the top 4 in the West and the 3 division leaders.

That and the fact that the CBJ have to pass 6 teams makes the chances for making the playoffs 0%.

This site projects such, and they have the CBJ's chances at 0.1%. So there is hope :)

No but at least they have their jump and life back.

Amazing how much morale Hitchcock sucked out of this team.

In other news, Steve Mason has finally decided to show up again this season.

3-0, 0.33 GAA, 2 Shutouts since Hitch was canned.

Should be 3 shutouts too if it weren't for a late fluke goal vs Dallas

Wow, i knew that the players didn't like hitch, but this turnaround is amazing. They are playing as a team and are playing great.

After I watched the game highlights, I believe that if Heatley would've had the shot on the amazing save, SJ would've scored. But whatever.

Who's going to the games this weekend? I'll be there sunday for the Blackhawks game, but I won't be able to make the Canucks game (work).

You win and it will eventually take care of itself.

To have a chance at the playoffs, Like hitch said, we have to be .500.

We HAVE to win the next two home games.

The question is, did you watch any games last year?

Actually I totally forgot they made the playoffs last year. Just sparked. But losing 4-0 to the Wings is probably why I forgot.

Yeah. I have had double pink eye for 2 weeks coupled with an inner ear infection. Due to me being so contagious I am stuck at the house or as I call it my bubble.
Doctors appointment again today at 230 to see if I can get off restriction and maybe make it to Nationwide.
