Actually, the no call was in favor of the Colts. If a block in the back would have been called then New Orleans would have simply run out the clock. In stead, the Colts and Manning got the ball back and went right down the field and should have scored (Waynes don't hit me i don't have the ball drop on the goal line. Then onside kick, hopefully recover it and score again. But it was a block in the back.
This is why I believe the Colts should have gone for a perfect season, a team is not garanteed to make it to the super bowl let alone win it. Besides that the Colts were worried about injuries during the last two games well they had a couple during the super bowl and it hurt them, so injuries are gonna happen. So in the words of wise coach - You play to win the game!
As a coach, and player your goals do change as the season goes along. The Browns had to change their goals when they weren't making the playoffs correct?

Wrong, Colts had 3 time outs and maybe a 2 minute warning.( I don't remember) Either way no way would Colts declined that penalty. Also it should have been called because it was so blatantly obvious IMO.

The Saints were not going to lose this game. They were the better team and they were better coached. I'll even say they had the better QB (at least that night). Manning is a choke artist. This game solidified that thought for me. He really tainted his legacy with a pick 6 rather than tying the game and possibly sending it into ot. Being great in the regular season will only get you so much as far as legend status goes.

I agree with this. It's amazing how Brees has progressed during his career. He was so mediocre early on that the Chargers drafted Rivers to replace him. Then he took off and maintained his job for what...two more years? And then became a total stud with the Saints. Manning's an amazing quarterback, but that career .500 playoff record with three losses coming in his first game after getting a first round bye have to hurt him a bit, as far as legacy AT THIS TIME (obviously, Indy's a great team and for all we know, he could win three SB's in the next five years and go down as the GOAT).

But right now, I'd be tempted to say Brees is the best QB currently in the NFL (ie: eliminating Warner who just retired, but would be top 5 easily and probably third if he hadn't). Manning would be second. Brady probably would be third, although I'd say that would be a precarious position that could fall (or rise) depending on next year. After that, you have Favre (who could be above Brady based on this year...and who is, unlike Warner, still an official QB), the R-Pack (Roethlisberger, Rivers, Rodgers, Romo), as well as McNabb and Schaub. I'd put Ben above the other three "Rs" because of having a better "clutch" reputation. The other three need to achieve that definitive win (or at least put up amazing enough stats that one can definitely say they're superior). This year, both Rodgers (who established himself as a tough mo-fo the way he got knocked around) and Romo (who proved he COULD win in December) really improved their status. McNabb is a very good veteran, but I think he's hurt by how he's been injured a lot AND the Eagles really haven't suffered when having to go with back-ups. Schaub had a great year overall this year and could move up a number of spots next year if he repeats that...but it's hard to put a dude without playoff experience up too high.

That's 10 guys. Honorable mentions could go to Eli (above average, but overrated IMO due to that miracle Tyree pass in his SB win), Cutler (who really struggled with the picks this year, but is talented) and Palmer (who seems to regress more and more, but has a couple of very good years in his history).

Technically they drafted Eli Manning and traded him to the Giants for their pick, which was Rivers. But your post was pretty accurate and very good.

one thing we do know is that big ben would not have thrown an int in that position of the game lol

A block in the back has to be in the back, not partly in the back. The blocking player needs to have hands on the numbers of the other player and the player can not turn last second to attempt to draw the foul. This was not a block in the back, it was a side block and good no call.
