He is not a spot up shooter, in fact he is an awful shooter, but that is what he would end up being here for the most part. That and he has 4 years and like $56 million left on his deal. No thanks.

I just don't see how Iggy makes us better at all. But some people are very high on him.

Haha, guy on ESPN says Orlando needs to call Toronto to get Hedo back.

I want no part of iggy. I think he's one of the most overrated players in the league. I also don't think he'd fit in well. He liked to put up too many quick and random shots. I'll pass!!!

I dont understand the Iggy rumors at all. If I had to make an argument I guess I could say that he wouldnt have as big of a role as he does in Philly. He has had to be "the guy" with the Sixers and thats just not his game. I guess he could do well as a second or third option with the Cavs. They wouldnt ask him to do too much and if he bought into to the system and learned to play defense he has the size to give opposing SG's some trouble. I dont want Iggy on this team at all but if I had to make an argument for him then that would be it.

Great, Iggy has a awesome game that adds fuel to the RCF posters fire.

Iggy is now a 1st rate super star that will become LeBron's Pippen.

Information from Windy's pod cast today

1. Against the likelihood of Iguodala coming to town (under 50% likely). Philly approached Cleveland first, so the offer is Ferry's to reject
2. The Wizards and Cavs don't trust each other and argued that Houston is likely needed to facilitate a S&T, and therefore wanting some sort of compensation for it
3. The Pacers are asking for way too much in every trade offer
4. Amare is really unlikely due to his character

But the most interesting note was that he expects a trade to happen sooner (as in the next week or so), rather than later (the deadline), in order to allow enough time for the new guys to settle in.

I didn't like the idea of Iggy either. I read some of Wine & Gold's thoughts on RCF though and it made me think about it more. I'm not as against it as I was but I still think Jamison is a better fit.

I tend to think of him as Toronto Raptor-Vince Carter. Scores the majority of the points for his team, gets alot of press for being decent on an average/bad team, can't hit a jumpshot consistently, scores alot of his points by being really athletic.

Not sure I'd go that far but people on RCF think he is the 2nd coming of Scottie Pippen for LeBron.

The guy shoots 42% from the field, 17 ppg as the #1 guy playing 40 minutes per game.

He's a 42% shooter. He averages 17 a game because he shoots a lot. If we got him here, the last thing I would want him to do is shoot a lot.

You make it sound like the Cavs can trade z under the stipulation that the buying team releases him. That's bull. The receiving team is free to do as they see fit.

No I post that Z will get bought out because every other Cav fan, except for you obviously, understands that Cleveland will only trade Z if they have a high feeling that he'll get bought out. Now, we all know there is a slight chance that the only team could retain him but I didn't know we had to spell it our for certain ratards as most of us already know the circumstances surrounding Z.

Its basic common knowledge that Z's chances of getting bought out if traded are increasingly high.

The Cavs and the Wiz not trusting one another says all you need to know why they need a third team involved in talks regarding Z. Pretty simple, frowned on or not.

I have been battling some guys on RCF for a few days now that Iggy is not a good fit for this team. Some great debates over there though, because you can usually talk sports without it turning into a big shitfest..

Of course, that is mainly due to it being a Cavs only board :)

Ferry said this morning that he would be very surprised if the Cavs make a trade this year. With that said, and since he makes the trade calls for the most part, I don't think you'll see one this year.

Z leaving is ridiculous. One of the biggest reasons LeBron and other Cavs want a champ so bad is for Z. Moving Z now would ruin some chemistry on this team.

I'm fine with no trade. I think we can do it. Just need for the guys we have to come back. We are #1 in the league right now. No reason to think we can't win it. Especially the way they have been playing. We need to keep JJ too. The boy is going to be a star some day. Give it time. We are good enough to suck up those bad nights.

I guess I may be the only one on this board that would make the trade for Iggy. I can see why people might see the 2nd coming of Larry Hughes, or why he wouldn't fit in. Here is why I think he would:

The guy is very athletic. He will finish with dunks and draw fouls at the rim. Can you imagine this guy running the break with Lebron? He won't have to handle the ball often, and LBJ is great at finding guys when they move off the ball. He makes 32.5% of his 3's while he is asked to pretty much do everything for that offense. Playing with Bron and Shaq that percentage should go up with more wide open looks. In Cleveland he would be the #3 ball handler, and asked to slash and score. When Hughes was here, we asked him to play pg, and knock down jumpshots. Now we have Mo, Delonte, Parker and Boobie to hit J's, something we didn't have when Larry was here. Also, when that floor tilts toward Lebron in the playoffs and in the 4th quarter, how nice would it be to have guy on the weakside that could beat his man off the dribble and finish at the rim? It is great that we have all these spot up shooters, but what happens when the 3 isn't falling? The Magic shot themselves to a series win against the Cavs, then when the 3's weren't falling against LA had no chance. How about a line-up against the Magic of Mo/Delonte, Iggy, Moon/Parker, LBJ, Shaq?

Ferry keeps his actions close to the chest. He loves to blow some smoke as he doesn't like people in his business too often. That's why it was hard to get a guage on what Cleveland would do last trade deadline and then boom Shaq gets traded to Cleveland this past summer.

He isn't going to come out and say we are actively in search of players, that makes Cleveland sound desparate and then the demands won't go down. He'll always say if the deal is right or if something pops up then we may make a move. He is a smart guy imo.

Z leaving isn't ridiculous, the Cleveland FO will do their homework and make sure that Z will be back in Cleveland.

Three weeks ago, Jamison appeared to be the player most likely to be traded. But the word from a number of GMs is that the Wizards are reluctant to trade him, particularly to the rival Cavs.

"They want a lot for him," one GM said. "A lot. Jamison is a good player, but he's old and makes a lot of money. No one is giving up a future superstar in return."
Washington cannot find anyone to give up anything reasonable for Jamison lol. Unless they find a 3 way deal, Cleveland is one of very, very few teams that are willing to take Jamison off the Wizards hands.
