6-11 since xmas.

Ouch.

There were a few of us claiming the Boston dynasty was over when it started (famously lead by Sage) and that looks like it's definitely true.

It could be a very busy deadline as the top teams are looking to add pieces.

Lakers are looking at PG's, Cavs are looking at PF/SG's, Celtics need help also preferably younger players.

Yet most people in the media are still picking them to win the East.

FML. Celtics are buzzkills this year, we were supposed to be healthy and better. Instead we're old and crotchety. I blame Sheed.

The whole Celtics being old and injured thing is nothing surprising to anyone who isn't a fan of the organization. Hell, even Bill Simmons wrote last year about this situation... and he is a fan of the Celtics.

If by some miracle the Celtics have a full healthy roster in the play-offs, they stand a chance.

But this is one old ass team.

Well, yeah, everyone knows they're super old but I think going into the season the expectation was that the C's would have a better year this year than last b/c the pieces, though old, were going to be mostly healthy. Hasn't happened, and the players look older than I expected them to.

A LOT of people made huge assumptions about this team, my thoughts were more a long the lines of wait and see with them--but I sort of expected what's happening to them now. They're still a good team, but they aren't a contender. And let me say it more clearly, they aren't a contender this year when healthy. If you think they can match up with the Cavs or Magic (or hell, even the Hawks) you're stretching for some hope at this point.

Still blows my mind how many people are picking them to win the East, some the title.

Right now they don't appear to have what it takes to make any noise. Should they get healthy, another big if, I'm not ready to discount a run though. The thing about veteran players is they know about pacing and turning it up a notch come play-offs, we've all seen it a bunch of times. Hell, we're expecting it from Shaq and have little doubt that he will come the play-offs. I don't see how it doesn't apply to the C's.

That said though, I'm not expecting them to stay healthy, and they really do look like a tired crew right now.

They can turn it up--they still don't have the horses to play with the Cavs, Magic and maybe even the Hawks--the Hawks seem to have their number.

The Boston Celtics are a roving band of homosexuals willing to suck dick for wholesale prices.

I love how them and their fans went from being the most arrogant, ref baiting, shit talking team in the history of the league to looking like an over 50 YMCA team in under two years.

This is what happens when you sell your soul to the devil for one championship.

I bet if you ask any Boston fan they would much rather have won the Kevin Durant lottery than having to watch KG limp up and down the court, Ray Allen play with metal ankles, and Paul Pierce continuing to set the bar as the ugliest human being in the history of mankind.

Like I said, enjoy your slide back into mediocrity. They have no pieces that anybody is going to want except Rondo. They're fucked and they're getting exactly what fags deserve.

The TD Banknorth Garden (LOL) will be back to chanting MVP for Kobe Bryant within 2 years. That's because Boston Celtics fans died 22 years ago this summer.

Sage, I'd rather take 1 title in my lifetime and watch old bums than no title.

Then again I am a Cleveland fan and one title is like fucking gold.

The Celtics were going to pick Greg Oden so they were lucky the lottery ball didn't go their way.

Not true.

Danny Ainge was going to select Durant. He was maybe the only GM in contention who planned on doing so.

Can you imagine the Celtics trotting out Rondo, Peirce, Durant, Al Jefferson and Perkins?

That's a hell of a lineup.

God I'm so happy the Lakers didn't trade for Garnett.

Not to say he still wouldn't be productive if he hadn't gotten injured, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he retires after this year.

They never would have won a title then, and they still wouldn't ever win one with that lineup. They definitely sold out but I'd say it was successful.

True that they wouldn't have won a title, but that's a very good young team.

They'd be good, but I'd still put my money on that team never winning a title.

Can you imagine Kendrick Perkins having to play 35-38 minutes a night? LOL, he'd lose 40 pounds by the All Star break.

Sage, I swear you have to be the most classless poster on here. You must not get that much attention at home and it shows with your dumbass comments. You cannot say one thing even remotely close to what can be considered a compliment to a team that is one of the 3-4 most historic and successful franchises in pro sports. And no, I'll take our title and I've been a Celtics fan since I started watching basketball and will always be a Celtics fan and your over the top antics are getting pretty stale and not even close to being entertaining.

And to the thread, Doc has made some pretty poor coaching decisions the past few weeks and we really need Marquis Daniels back to give Pierce/Ray breathers throughout the game and I wouldn't put it past Danny Ainge to make a couple moves after the All-Star break. Listen i give credit where credit is due (unlike some people) Kobe hit a shot where Ray could not have played any better defense other than fouling him and sending him to the FT Line.... The bench has been a big disappointment this whole season. First the Glen Davis incident and his play both have been terrible this year, Eddie House has been either off or on fire a far cry from last years record setting 3 point % in Celtics history, Tony Allen has had maybe 4-5 games where he has brought it other than that nothing much... When healthy this team can still be very dangerous, they just gotta start taking quarters off and play a full quarters.

They might not have won it in 08, but you can't tell me that lineup wouldn't be in a better spot today (and in the future) than their current one.

Do you need a jar for those gypsy tears, OSU?

Do you want to cry and whine like Sheed, Pierce, and Doc Rivers did?

The Celtics are done. They're the most overrated team in the history of sports. They got lucky to get Bill Russel for 11 of their championships, and besides a little run in the eighties, they fucking suck.

Like I said, I don't give Celtics daps for the same reason I don't give daps to Al Qaeda. They're both anti-American and racist.
