Hostile rhetoric from North Korea is nothing new. It has been happening for 60 years. Sometimes it gets more aggressive than other times. What's occurred these past few weeks is nothing new. They likelihood that Kim (like his father and grandfather before him) will start shooting is low. That would mean the end of him and his time in power. These stunts are face-saving exercises designed to keep his own people in line. What the US president says or doesn't say is irrelevant.
