CNN is creaming their pants so far over the turnout. Has anybody ever taken the time to read how the caucus works? I started to read, but then it was tl;dr.

From what I understand you don't just go in and vote privately. Its kinda like an open forum where candidates have their hardened supporters in there trying to get voters to change their vote. Voters coming in planning on voting for a lower polling candidate could be convinced to voting for one on the front runners. In the end you vote. But its more of a process.

I fucking hate Cruz, but if there was a state he should win it's Iowa.

I will say from watching The Circus on Showtime I can see why. The guy is a hell of a speaker and in my opinion is pretty damn genuine for a major politician. That being said he is way too far right for me, just a staunch conservative on everything.

Also liked how Morning Joe kept bringing up the topic that Trump supporters are like him full of hot air. They didn't show up as expected and he is beaten, in fact almost finished 3rd

I don't hate Cruz. The big momentum boost on the Republican side is Rubio. So far almost equal numbers with Trump and not far from Cruz.

Sanders down 49.8-49.6 with 89% reporting. No matter the official outcome, this was a huge blow to Hillary.

I agree. She will try to spin. Politico has it at 49.8 - 49.6 Hillary with 90.5% reporting. Basically a tie.

Cruz 28%
Trump 24%
Rubio 23%

If there was any doubt as to the effect of Trump skipping the last debate, let the records show that Rubio gained 8 points, Cruz stayed the same, and Trump dropped 4 %. Gone is any sense of Trump invincibility. The big winner here is Rubio, who now must be considered a serious contender.

On to New Hampshire where Trump has a lead, but Ohio Governor Kasich is running second. It will be interesting to see how the win by Cruz, and the strong showing by Rubio will affect what happens in NH. It is looking like a long road to the nomination.

I think Rubio will consolidate votes as people start dropping out. I hope people don't hang around to impact who gets the nomination - pretty clearly a 3-man race. Although I suppose a strong showing for Kasich in New Hampshire should probably keep him in the race a while longer.

Ron Paul will probably hang around like his daddy used to, and Ben Carson is probably trying to solidify a Fox News gig. Jeb, Christie and everyone else should be planning to withdraw.

The DNC is heavily in the tank for Hillary. They don't even try to hide it. And I HATE conspiracy theorist shit, but its become so blatant with Wasserman that its past any sort of conspiracy.

I find it funny people getting excited for Rubio when people were bitching 8 years ago about a young Senator with little experience who no showed to his job all the time.

And congrats Iowa for continuing your trend of picking a loser.

Oh hey guys, wolves of Babylon here. I claim I'm not a liberal/democrat, but I go out of my way to defend all liberal politicians and trash all GOP candidates/politicians!!

I guess I can see the comparison with age and experience, but the big difference is Rubio speaks with substance unlike Obama. I also trust Rubio much more to surround himself with people who know what they are talking about and actually listen to those people. If you want to compare anyone to Obama, it should be trump. He is a blowhard who says nothing of substance and has fired people up with simple catch phrases.

Also, when the top 2 current choices are an asshole businessman or a closet gay; bible thumping Canadian, can you blame people for being excited about Rubio?

*for the SJWs and the easily butt hurt. I have nothing against gay people. My friend brought up Cruz being a closet gay the other day and it brought the lulz.

Of course he is, why haven't I picked up on this before? Cruz is your typical closet gay Christian who hates himself for being gay so he's a huge fucking asshole instead and trumpets religion like its actually making himself feel better about blowing dudes.

It's like sports, I don't criticize Michigan for terrible qb play, bad play calls or people not doing there job because I don't care about them. Ohio State on the other hand, if things aren't going well , I will offer critiques.

The facts are Iowa has now picked Santorum, Huckabee and now Cruz. All three had or have no shot.

Rubio is a guy who can't even handle his own finance yet I'm suppose to trust him with no proven track record of accomplishing anything? Not to mention I am a Libertarian Conservative so I'm not exactly too keen on the second coming of Neoconservative John McCain who wants to be in a war across the globe.

And we are in the primary season now so I don't care who the Dems nominate. I want to pick someone who can win and actually promote real conservatism. Once the nominees are set, I will then start bashing them if that makes you happy?

I agree with you there. Iowa has a pathetic voting record the last 3 presidential primaries.

Rubio has a great chance of winning if he gets the nomination. In fact I think a Rubio/Kasich ticket would blow Killary out of the water.

Ultimately I would vote Rubio over Clinton/Sanders. I want to vote for Gary Johnson but we can't have 8 years of Hilary.
