I know what Obama said. He also said we could keep our plans and obamacare wasn't a tax. Expanding/improving on obamacare is not the same as completely shifting to single payer.

I am telling you right now the majority of obamacare supporters did not share the same view as you when it was passed. The narrative has conviently changed for them when the media provided them the single payer talking points. I am not even talking about the dumb people in this country. I have a lot of smart friends (some who even work on the hill), who legitimately thought Obamacare was going to solve everything.

Not necessarily true. If you're in dire straights people love it and are able to get care. If you need to get into a urologist to get viagra it's going to suck.

Pretty much this. Ask any active duty service member (or retired vet) how they feel about Tri-care. The majority of them will tell you it's a pile of shit.

You'll still have the same here.. it will also be an additional cost to have private healthcare here.. just like in the UK. Majority wont get it.

Actually the rich will get it and then the poor here will complain that their healthcare isn't as good and will demand the rich pay their "fair share" so they can get better healthcare. I can already see it happening.

Well no one cares about a man's sexual health but god forbid it takes 2 months for a woman to get a gynecologist appointment for BC, the SJW will be out in full force saying Republicans hate women. Single payer will only make it worse with the wait times and how our media caters to the lowest denominator.

Really sad. Most of my super liberal friends don't understand the kind of implications to have all of the things Bernie has to offer. Simply unrealistic to even get anywhere near the 19.6 trillion he proposed as a lot of this would cause behavioral changes in how people and companies act. The net would be something like more programs we can't afford that will leave the next generation loaded in unpayable debt.

Disaster at best.

well he's going to need all that money to pay for all the federal investigations that he wants to mandate any time someone dies in police custody. ( when asked about the Tamir Rice case at the debate). I assume he means that for everyone because all lives matter, not just minorities.

Unless you can explain what Noah's Ark has to do with politics, I would step back and reword your posts.

The world has tried these type of policies a few times and they have always failed. There is a reason why I say they don't understand history if they would vote for Sanders.

Be intellectually honest Zwick. You are a smart man. You and I both know to pay for those will come from the rich AND middle class, period. The middle class will get hit hard if Sanders gets what he wants passed.

You are right they are not fucked over. The wealthy have the resources and will change their economic activity accordingly. But it would appear Bernie and many other's solution is to tax the acts of accumulating wealth. Many that are in the process of accumulating wealth are not independently wealthy will be caught up in the morass.

We will continue to be fucked over as long as we buy into progressive taxes on common economic activity. Whether it is income or whatever the new populist plan drums up. If you people want to redistribute wealth tax accumulated wealth (net worth) and leave those that want or are close to getting there alone. I am not advocating a wealth tax. Not totally against it either if other forms of taxation were repealed. Just saying if you want use the tax code to "redistribute wealth" it would be more logical to directly tax actual wealth.
