This weekend were going to the Westerville south duals and Central crossing tourny next week. Getting ready for cities with this young team but its been a lot of fun. Wish i had there three kids from last year to go with the new guys but "it is what it is." LOL
West has wrestled Whetstone, Mifflin, Centennial, Eastmoor. We have been in tournaments with Mifflin, Whetstone, Centennial, and South. I have watched South, Northland, East, Beechcroft. We have practiced with Indy, Whetstone, and Marion Franklin. I have not seen Brookhaven, Briggs, or Linden.
We are wrestling Walnut Ridge and South on Feb 5th. Coach Chuck, My AD did not get any info about wrestling you guys and Linden/South so she booked us for Feb 5th.
All in all, most weight classes are wide open. 106, 113, 126, 132, 160, 170, and 182 should be won by kids we have all heard of. (and possibly 195 depending on what is going on with Wellborn from MF) All other weight classes are wide open. Look for some sleepers. Centennial has a kid at 220 that should make the jump to the WWE in a few years.
I haven't heard too much about grades effecting line ups? I know South lost their 182 which was a kid that could have done well, but that is it. Anyone have info on others? We came out mostly unscathed. Our greatest battle now is making scratch weight at 195 and 220. STAY AWAY FROM THE DONUTS AND HOT CHEETOS!
I too appreciate the Herminator's write up, but also disagree. The city champs will come down between Mifflin, Whetstone, Walnut Ridge, with possible sleepers Marion Franklin, Centennial, Brookhaven, and don't forget about those Cowboys. If I have any Nicola magic dust left over from last season, we could be seeing some kids place in the finals that nobody has ever heard of, but who we have full confidence in. COWBOY UP! : thumbup:
