I'm not blaming them either ( especially now that I understand it better).....with having big money for Dunlap and Atkins, you gotta figure you can plug in different players and still be very good up front.

He did have games that I watched where I didn't see much but then you have the Packers game and his best was against Thomas of the Browns. He and Dunlap were in Campbell all game. MJ had a sack, TFL, 2 pass deflections (one that caused an INT), forced a fumble and had an interception....that's a crazy game against an All-Pro LT.

I do think he likes it there and will give the Bengals a chance but likely to play nearer home or an ideal situation (big time yearly contender) maybe would be better for him.

I am being biased as when we got to go to the Fuel Up to Play 60 day at PBS he was so impressive. I don't know if he volunteered to be the Bengals player/spokesperson or if they assigned him to it.....but he played the role perfectly all day long and with all the past Bengals thugs and some views of NFL/Professional athletes in general....he's the perfect guy you want representing your team to the public. I'll root him on wherever he ends up.

The Bengals are projected to be at a little over 20 million under the 126 million cap in 2014. In contrast, our 2 biggest division rivals the Ravens and Steelers could be in cap hell for years due to contracts that were bonus based so they could spread the cap over years versus an immediate cap hit. They simply are pushing a lot of cap dollars to future years. The Ravens pushed a huge chunk of the Flacco contract to future years so at some point, the cap hit for the Ravens will be significant.

The cap is based on the top 51 on the roster (by salary or cap hit). The Steelers currently (in 2014) have a cap of $131.319M with only 45 guys signed. They have young UFA contracts coming up as well in Hood, Sanders and Worlds who they will need to give big raises to keep them. In essence, I see 2 Steelers as possible cuts to offset their negative cap situation. Troy. P. and Heath Miller both may be cut or take huge pay cuts to stay with the Steelers in 2014. Keisel and Ryan Clark are free agents I don't see them re-signing.

The Ravens on the surface look better, but are they? They are at around $107M which is the same as the Bengals, but the Ravens only have 37 of the 51 under contract. The Bengals have 51 under contract. The Ravens have some key free agents to sign as well. Oher, T. Jones, Graham, Pitta, Dickson, D. Smith, Cody and Ihedigho are all starters who will want a raise. At only their 2013 salaries, they were at over 20 million. The Ravens also have a lot of long term money tied up in Ngata, Flacco, Suggs and Rice so that could be a negative down the road.

Keisel will be gone....of the 3 due the money or be gone....gotta keep Worilds. Clark might be gone....and please dear God keep Troy. I'll be fucking pissed if he 'a not back. I understand what the Steelers do but letting Rod Woodson go....Troy only has 2 years left but I want them where they've always been. If I saw him on the Jets I'd fucking vomit.

When TP is healthy, like this season, he is good. Very good and someone this team needs to keep. The steelers didnt get rid of Rod, they offered a fair contract but he got one better elsewhere. He is my all time fav and hated to see him go, but even at the time I agreed.

Steelers are up upon the cap, as usual and wont make moves. They need to draft better.

I honestly hope they address getting a QB in the draft, and do it earlier than later. Don't wait until the 5th or 6th round on a project guy. Use the first or second pick to bolster up the defense a bit, then start seeing what's out there. I'll be disappointed if they wait till later in the draft (or don't pick one at all.) I just don't see how the organization is suppose to instill any confidence with him at the helm and no threat to his job. Hell, I don't even know how Dalton keeps a level head by going out there and continuing to fail when it counts the most.

Jackson may be an upgrade over Gruden with the personel they have. He's definitely a guy who was a huge asset as a QB coach.

Lets hope he can work some magic with Ginger Snaps.
