...they run the table....and Pittsburgh loses at Dallas and beats Cincy at home. Cincy also has to lose one to either Philly or Baltimore at Baltimore.

The only real long shot in this scenario is the upset of Payton's boys on the road. If Dallas beats Pittsburgh and the Browns win next week.....they will be thinking playoffs when they take on the Broncos.

basically if the best record for the 6th spot has an 8-8 record, the browns would most likely be in. root for philly, dallas and seattle this week especially (none of this will even come close to happening but fun to think about nonetheless)

A key cog might end up being Ravens/Bengals. The Ravens are just damn near set to be the #4....possibly the #3......they will not be doing anything to win that last week. Pittsburgh and Cincy losing this week caused that even more.

Won't happen, but it is nice to have the chance. Also, it makes the losses to Philly and Dallas that much worse.

Browns own tiebreaker against both Cinci and Pittsburgh. Also, it is possible to get in at 7-9...but a lot of other stuff would have to go right.

If.....Pitt and Cincy lose this week....and the Browns win.....then even with a loss at Denver, the Browns should be in the hunt in the final game against Pittsburgh.

False. Cleveland can't get in at 7-9 considering cinci and Pitt play each other. So one of them will get to 8 wins at least

I personally hope they don't get in. That would probably guarantee another year of Shurmur and fuck that noise.

Agree. Baltimore could very well lay down against the Bengals and rest their starters.

Not false at all. You are forgetting that the second wild card could come from this division. If The Jets falter, then the Browns would only have to tie either Pittsburgh or Cincinnati.

Like I said, the Browns could get in at 7-9...but the Jets and Bills would need to lose twice.

Note: Both the Jets and the Bills would have to lose 2 out of the their last 3 games for the Browns to get in at 7-9.

1st wildcard spot will go to whoever finishes 2nd in the South. So Jets, Steelers, Bengals, and Dolphins are fighting for the last wildcard spot. Browns have no chance of making it at 7-9 even if the Bills and Jets lost all 3 of their last 3 games because like Crimson said Bengals/Steelers play each other, so one of them will walk away with the final wild card spot.

And you would be wrong. Browns own tie breaker over Jets....So if Browns go 2-1 and the Jets lose twice....Browns are in as second woldcard, provided the Browns tie either Pitt or Cincinnati...which could happen.

The Browns do not own the tie breaker versus Buffalo. As such, the Browns will also need Buffalo to lose twice.

Oh....and the first wild card spot goes to Indy....not the others you claim.

Put another way....if the Browns win Sunday...and...the Jets, Bills, Steelers and Bengals all lose....then the Browns will enter the last game of the season with a chance at a playoff spot...guaranteed.....even if the Browns lose in Denver the following week.

Week 15
Browns win
Bengals lose
Steelers lose
Dolphins lose
Jets lose
Bills lose

Week 16
Browns lose
Bills/Dolphins lose
Steelers/Bengals win
Jets lose

Week 17
Browns win over Steelers
Bengals lose
Jets/Bills lose
Dolphins lose

That puts whoever wins between Steelers and Bengals in Week 16 in the playoffs. I just gave you the best scenario Browns could possibly have at 7-9, and yet, they still can't get in with everyone losing that they need to. It's not possible. At all. The Browns MUST go 3-0 the next 3 games or they have zero chance of getting in.

You are leaving the part of the formula where the Browns have to win 3 more games in a row (that would be 6 in a row total little guy) against 3 good teams, before we even consider all the other shit that is supposed to happen. Just stop. The Browns already played themselves out. We have shurmur to thank. Also not surprised you can't even spell "Browns."

There is only one wild card spot up for grabs unless Indy has quit the league. Either Piitsburgh or the 'nati will win at least 8 games, so a 7-9 team will not be in the playoffs.

LOL, is this footwedge character real?

AFC Playoff Picture

Division Leaders
1. Houston Texans 11-1
2. Denver Broncos 10-3
3. New England Patriots 9-3
4. Baltimore Ravens 9-4

Wildcard Leaders
5. Indianapolis Colts 9-4
6. Pittsburgh Steelers 7-6
7. Cincinnati Bengals 7-6

The Bengals and Steelers still face each other. That means AT LEAST 6 teams will win 8 games in the AFC. It is IMPOSSIBLE for the Browns to make the playoffs at 7-9.
