I simply said that Louisville and Duke will potentially play out like a national championship game. I think they have been the two best teams so far in the tournament. Syracuse and perhaps Michigan are right there as well. The Orange are playing real good.
Louisville, Duke and Syracuse are playing the defense of a champion right now. I don't think anyone from the West would have beaten either of these teams. I think Louisville probably ends up playing Syracuse for the title. Michigan is really coming on strong, though, too.
Never said you did.
But some hinted at it before the tourney saying Duke wasnt the 8th overall team so they shouldnt have been in LV bracket. Thats all I was referencing.

Rec, I'm with you for the rest of the day. I'll be pulling like hell for WSU against whoever wins this game, but just as soon get the Cards out ASAP.
Enjoy it, bro.

Haha. Thanks. I've cheered for UK all out twice before. My friend and I ran around the perimeter of his house at midnight screaming like the scene from Signs after UK knocked off the number one overall seed in 2011. And against UNC the next game. Hopefully you'll give Duke some luck this time.

Embarrassing effort. No heart.
I won't admit I was wrong about the outcome, because I said I believed Louisville would win, but I was very wrong about Duke's effort. This was a tie game at 42 with about 15 minutes left in the second half. It is now 72 to 54. I would have killed myself had I went to watch this. I would have simply wandered into a passing city bus.
Goodbye, Mason Plumlee. Try playing some mother------ defense. Let's see how jumping around like a kangaroo helps you against Dwight Howard.

Clark Kellogg is a full-on retard analyst. Yes, I'm bitter, but he is egregiously terrible at what he does. How can one be at the top of a profession they are so clearly inept at doing? I don't why he got promoted to the Final Four.
Do people here like listening to his blowhard? He's like a less advanced Vitale.

I hate ANY analyst who is so gimmicky. Stop talking about being DQ'd and playing a game on roller skates etc. Give me Raftery any day from the CBS crew. He has 1 gimmick, and its immediately after the tip...the Man to Man thing. Onions, send it in and a little kiss are all after he actually dissects the play via replay. Perfect blend.

This made me laugh. Haha.
Glad I'm not the only one and that there are a few others who also hate this fucking prick.

Curry just doesn't play well on short rest. It's not an excuse; it's just reality. The writing was on the wall heading in. It's been that way all year with him. His conditioning just isn't there. He had terrible movement and was slow coming off screens early in the game and that led to Louisville really being able to get in his face and keep him quiet from the get-go. I think he just didn't have anything left today. The same thing happened in Atlantis. He was explosive in the first game of that tournament and then really quieted down in the remaining two. The quick turnover just is hard on a player who is battling long-term leg injuries.
I thought Plumlee played really weak. His help-side rotation to stop the drive isn't even worth criticizing. It was non-existent. Brian Zoubek would eat that kid alive. Good luck in the pros, Mason. You're gonna need it.

I wouldn't forget about Rodney Hood, or Jabari Parker, for that matter. Those two will make a huge difference for Duke next year unfortunately. Parker is a freshman, though, but he's not ranked #2 in his class for no reason.

Next year will be a top five pre-season team for Duke. The talent will dwarf this year's team. The depth will be astounding. Definitely disagree with your assertion of a 20-10 season next year.
Duke will be a contender for national title favorite, IF Wiggins doesn't choose UK. If Wiggins goes to UK, Duke will be in the 2 to 4 range. It will be a great year for Duke. Jabari Parker, Rodney Hood and Rasheed Sulaimon will comprise one of the most lethal trios in the country.

ccrunner, you're not very up to date on your own school. Duke is pre-season top 5. Right now, I think Duke, Michigan State and Kentucky are the only sure-fire top 5's. UNC, Michigan, Louisville, Florida, Ohio State and maybe Arizona are in consideration.
Plumlee is a loss, no doubt. I think Duke fans can admit they will be thin and inexperienced up front. Like I've said to Rec before, I see Coach K scouring the graduate transfer wire for a big, similar to a guy like Alex Oriakhi or Justin Knox to come in and at least give some beef and minutes.
Unlike this year's team (especially without Kelly), Duke will have good shooters AND 2 or 3 guys (Hood, Sulaimon, Parker) who will be able to score in one-on-one situations. Their defense, IMO, will also be a question mark, but both Hood and Parker have the skills to be above-average defenders if they really buy into it.

Agree that Duke will be undermanned at the five. I imagine Amile Jefferson will be thrust into that position. He's much more agile and skilled than Josh Hairston (who is TERRIBLE and could not catch a beach ball) and has a much bigger upside. While undersized for a classic five, Jefferson is wiry and is the best option Duke will have next year without looking outside the program, as Az indicates above, for a potential transfer. Duke could, of course, play smaller with Jabari at the top of the lineup, but, while Parker would torch many opposing centers away from the basket, that would create a problem defensively and would not be of benefit to Parker's skillset. Jefferson will be the guy Duke leans on if an immediate transfer is not available.
At every other position, Duke will be loaded. Andre Dawkins also announced this week that he's coming back to Duke for a final year. I figured that was the case all along, but it's pretty much official now. He and Matt Jones will makeup one of the most lethal outside shooting combos in the country. Duke was the third-best three-point shooting team percentage-wise in the nation this year. Next year, Duke will be on a whole different planet in terms of shooting weapons. The 6-4 Dawkins, 6-4 Sulaimon, 6-4 Jones, 6-8 Hood, 6-9 Parker, Thornton and Cook will all be serious threats from deep. And as Az said, to balance it out, the Blue Devils will also have multiple slashers who can create for themselves.
I'm personally glad that Plumlee is gone, but I do wish there were a traditional center who was ready to take his place.

Haha yeah. I actually really like Isiah Austin from Baylor. Thought he would have been good at Duke. I think he will eventually turn into a great player in the NBA with his ability to go inside and out at that sheer size. He looks like a dinosaur. Definitely a freak. The last thing Duke needs, though, is an 8-foot center who only shoots threes.

Tyler Hansbrough would have been f---ed against this guy.

Cory Jefferson is a 6-10, 210 lean, dunking machine and is available immediately. (He'll be a fifth-year senior next year and, per the graduate student rule, can play right away next season if he decides to leave Baylor.) Jefferson is an outstanding rebounder with excellent length and a great finisher. He's a polished Amile Jefferson. Please get this guy.
