I love that album but the Weezer album that made the biggest difference in my music listening was Pinkerton.

That's the same with me and "Live After Death". I eventually bought it on CD...and was disappointed, because to make it fit on a CD, they eliminated the fourth record side (with Wrathchild, 22 Acacia Avenue, Children of the Damned, Die With Your Boots On and a really, really kickass version of Phantom of the Opera). And I believe they shortened Running Free by eliminating the crowd participation part...which was about 6 of 8 minutes.

Yes, I'm Shpongled. I have everything they've ever release I think, if not, I need to find out what I'm missing.

If anyone else is wondering who Shpongle is or if anyone wants to be Shpongled, youtube it. I'll forewarn you and say that it's not for everyone, but I find that most people think it's pretty cool to listen to. Just like Bassnectar, not mainstream music, but most people seem to like it.

Nevermind by Nirvana. Even though I was only 1 year old when it came out, it definitely changed my life once I discovered it when I was 13. Such a great album that became the anthem of my adolescence.

Leave A Whisper by Shinedown. Talk about a stacked rock album. No matter what you think of the band now, no rock fan can deny that the album is from start to finish, full of great songs.

The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me- Brand New
When Your Heart Stops Beating - +44
Iowa- Slipknot

I stand corrected lol I thought it was a great one though. Back then they were just some young dudes from Jacksonville. They've gone kinda south now, though...but that album was a good one IMO.

I agree and for the material it contained AND for the way it influenced a whole decade and more of music, it's one of the greatest albums of at least the last 25 years, possibly longer. When you consider the fact that Nirvana created a whole genre of music, and they were virtually the only band in that genre, shows how great they really were. Usually if a band tries something new, the only way it works is if there is a movement in music from other artists that jump on board so to speak. If other artists don't jump on board, then usually the band that tried to start a movement fizzles out or is forced to make something more mainstream in order to sell records. That was not the case with Nirvana. They created grunge and they WERE grunge rock, and still are today. That's a hell of an accomplishment when you really sit down and think about it.

Nirvana were not the grunge pioneers that you think they were. They brought it to the mainstream but they didn't invent anything.

The Pixies would dispute your statement about grunge with their album Doolittle.

True, and so would the Melvins. But again, as you said yourself, Nirvana brought what was an underground/regional movement to being the most popular form of rock music in the world for about 5 years and the effects are still lasting today.

The Pixies can dispute it all they want, but the point is they didn't make an album like Nevermind, and had Nirvana never came around, they would be little more than an afterthought. As would the Melvins. Seriously, have you ever heard any of the Melvins stuff? Most of it kinda sucks. And the Pixies arent all that great either.
