we had this conversation at least 3 times over the last ten years and i have been posting it that way for 10 years.  I mostly use this site on my phone and its easier to type that way for me, not sure why its such a big deal its a message board.

It's such a big deal because our students need to be taught how to do things properly.  Our English classes don't teach how to use proper slang.  I'll go out on a ledge and assume that our math and financial classes teach students how to use money symbols correctly.  My honest opinion, it makes people look stupid.

Some countries place the currency symbol after the number.

But as an OCD USA American. The $ after bothers me.

But isn't that simply mocking him for being a painfully stupid twat who happens to be in the education profession? Don't remember too much "our students need to be taught to do things properly" pearl-clutching in response to his posts on a site where students haven't been a thing since the glory days of MtRulz (on the 17% chance he was a student and not a pervy dude pretending to be one); just a lot of laughter and disbelief that a dude who botched basic grammatical stuff, was addicted to derpy conspiracy theories and said stuff in a way that tons of pedo jokes got directed at him was even allowed near a school, much less allowed to instruct anyone in anything.
