You say the schools suck and yet claim to be extremely intelligent. Self taught? It’s just an ironic statement to make

Yea bro, it’s called parenting. I had a few really good teachers, in a small ass Ohio town, but mainly I just learned myself. They also taught nothing about fiscal responsibility, just trash basic shit. But when you look at big school districts and how much money they waste where kids can’t read above a 3rd grade level, that’s a problem. As is wasting million of dollars on administration instead of actual teachers. You live in this world, if you think it’s going well you’re delusional.

What’s your solution to fixing inner city schools?

Apparently not money. Have two parents? Throwing money at the problem clearly doesn’t work. And stop having admin staff. My high school now has 2 athletic directors, 100% unnecessary. Not one person is fiscally responsible. People wouldn’t like how you cut costs. Schools are just a cash drain. It’s really just math.

Not sure if anybody knows much about this case. The United States vs Skrmetti (Tennessee AG).

To put it in basic terms, the case is whether Tennessee has the right to ban "gender affirming care" (including chemical castration and sexual mutilation) for minors.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Skrmetti

So apparently the thing which Dems repeatedly say is unimportant, or too small in number to notice, or just flat out doesn't happen, has rapidly and magically made it's way to SCOTUS.

Some of the questions/statements made by Kagen, Sotomayer, and Jackson during arguments. Yikes.

Maybe MORE shitty teachers isn't the answer.  Maybe 2 shitty teachers each with 20 students isn't as good as 1 good teacher with 40 students.

Maybe increase pay to attract good teachers and get rid of the ones who struggle to read and write.  But LOL that's not how unions work.

You solved it! Average class size is 36. Anything else? There is a teacher shortage and an easy path for people in business, come sign up!

Average class size of what is 36? High school level? K-12, your subject area? Kindergarten have 36 kids a room?

My bad.  I neglected to include shitty teachers who can't do basic math.

Well then clearly we need to stop hiring shitty teachers.  Or just stop grossly overpaying babysitters.

JMOG wasn't wrong.  I had a 300-level math class with a bunch of education majors who struggled to even pass.  I did all my homework during class, and aced every exam.  One of the easiest classes I had.

Just curious what class?

I had an education major, in “intro to logic” tell me it was her hardest class she had ever taken.

It was by far my easiest I took in 4 years.

Some of the teaching classes (at least back then) were incredibly easy. The NTE tests were very difficult BUT the score needed to pass was not.

I also feel that I am a quality teacher of elementary students…but I’m not sure any of it came from anything I learned in college. I’m very good at reading people, reading kids and then reaching them on their level. I know what makes most all of them tick…make them care. “They don’t care how much you know until you show them how much you care” I’ll die on the hill of how important that is.

And I flat out know I’m one of the least intelligent people on this site….but I’m also one of the more intelligent people at my school.

I’ll also add this…you don’t want that K-3 classroom teacher position. You don’t want any part of it.

Differential equations.  Most of my math classes were way harder than business, and Real Analysis told me "you're done in math", but DE was a joke.

Yeah, you don't want any part of what I do, either.

You don't know real stress until you're under a deadline at 2am after months of 80-hour mentally exhausting weeks.

We were saying how easy teaching is in college and in general. No one was questioning your position. And you don’t know the stress the kids we are trying to prep for life are going through. I helped a sweet little first grade girl with her spelling test today. I took her down the hallway to an open and quiet room. She’s missed 2 days of school this week and her first words to me were “my daddy had to go to jail yesterday”….blonde hair and puss in boots eyes. I tried to make things better in her mind. The spelling words weren’t difficult but she has a bit of a “miss” from her brain to the pencil. I was helping her along but she couldn’t get there in so many words. She hesitated to write because she didn’t know what to write. She never gets in trouble but school is hard for her and she just couldn’t do it…as a tear ran down her cheek.

Take your “real stress” and shove it up your ass.

I think most jobs are stressful in their unique way, at different times.

Anyway...

A NY city school had been teaching gender ideology to 7th graders. A whistle blower sent a video to the Megyn Kelly show. The show then contacted the school with questions and the spokeswoman tried to use vague weasel words but eventually admitted that they had a partnership with a 3rd party group to come in and talk to kids about the ideology.

We are 7-12 by contact they can put 36 kids in your class. Most of my rosters are 33. Average was probably not the best word to use when talking district wide. I was referring to my school.

Honestly idk.. we have roughly 45-46k students and probably 110 schools off the top of my head in any given year. When I started 29 years ago we were much larger. I think it was around 85k
