20% of people today started with least, stare or adieu.  All among the best words.

Seems really boring to me to play the same handful of words every day. It's not like there are any real prizes to care about a 3 vs. a 4.

I change starting words almost daily and typically my starter is a different cluster of vowels than the day before or even prior days (some days I can’t remember)…..I’ve used stare a few times and least a couple, but never adieu

Yeah, I change starting words every day.  I do end-up defaulting a lot of times to more common words on a second guess, partially out of necessity.

But goose eggs on the first guess are the most fun days.  Yesterday my starting word was "flunk".  But I'll even throw out words like "weird" or "ghost".  All have several valuable letters, just something less than optimal.

I stick with one word for a long time. At the beginning,  I was using least, then I switched to adieu and now for the last several months I’m using stare.
