In short, comic relief religious idiot is comic relief religious idiot.

So much wrong with this.  Just so much.  I want ... to assault ... this man.

Dude even has Ohio ties, as I recall. Thought his name was familiar and looked it up. He was a high school football coach that refused to comply with the rule about coaches not being able to lead prayers, which led to him losing that gig. He then proved he was more an attention whore than a person with genuine faith by using whatever publicity he got from that situation to propel himself into being a religious right talking head. And, I guess, for that to pay the bills, you have to make a public spectacle of yourself every once in a while.

Of course ...

Because he couldn't just be some bumpkin from the boonies of Alabama or Mississippi.

If you get really quiet and listen, you can hear Barry Goldwater saying, "I told you so," from his grave.

I know this is old, but if anyone hasn't seen it, they need to.

This man is the prototypical reason people use when they don't want to go to church.

I mean ... would you WANT to go to church with him?

Woa.  The worst thing about this story is the hospital administrator and sheriff completely denying what was clearly happening on the tape.

I felt like I was watching a Twilight Zone episode.

"I felt like they acted accordingly."

"No, he didn't punch him in the face."
