Interesting twitter thread on the virus. Wild conspiracy theory or plausible scenario?

I think he's talking out of his ass, but he does bring up an interesting question as to whether the US is researching bio weapons.  We'd almost have to, because you have to assume the bad actors are doing it, also.

Also, if your bio weapon only kills elderly people in China, then you're a pretty mediocre evil genius.  Or maybe the goal of such things isn't actually to kill a bunch of people.  The fact it turned that China city into a ghost town for weeks is probably sufficiently effective from a tactical perspective.

Nightmare scenerios being reported about North Korea.

That country might not survive a pandemic.

Looks like another buying opportunity!  Although there are some real & significant hits to revenues/profits in the pipeline with the disruption caused to the supply chain.

And all the news organizations are foaming at the mouth over the prospect for a "pandemic".

What do we really know about the biohazard research facility in Wuhan?

Should we be buying what the Chinese are selling regarding this virus?

I'm really on board with how Rush both thinks it's the common cold and only being blown out of proportion in order to make Trump look bad AND how it's a bio-weapon being worked on by China, despite how, to the common man, those two theories seem to be really, really, really far apart. Just the typical blind idiot trying to throw as much shit against the wall as possible hoping he can say he was right about it because one of his 50 crackpot theories was kinda sorta there if you squint real hard.

BS.  It only earns and cost the day you buy and the day you sell, everything in between is a cycle that should not be paid attention to for the most part

Well, the common man is an idiot.

While no manipulative markers have been found, certainly all major countries conduct research on contagious diseases.  And that research might even include a bio-weapons program.  It's neither mutually exclusive, nor unreasonable, that the outbreak did originate from such a facility.  It might have been benign for self-defense research, but it's a possibility a raw sample virus "broke contain" [or however you say it].

I mean, what are the odds that in the last 20 years,  H1N1, SARS and CV19 all originated by accident/spontaneously from China?

That is all speculation. There is ZERO evidence from our intel agencies or even the open source intelligence to show that.

It has just as much credibility as saying the disease was brought to us by aliens.

For something this serious allegation wise, I need to see some credible sources before I will entertain the theory.

Everything that occurs in the universe can trace its causation back to the liberal media in the US.  If a distant star explodes, its because the Washington Post caused it to happen in order to bring Trump down.

Talk about an over-inflated sense of self.

I got this from the CDC estimates.  From October 1, 2019 - February 15, 2020 there have been 29,000,000 – 41,000,000 flu illnesses and 16,000 – 41,000 deaths in the US.

Take the lower end of the estimates over the same period of time and slap coronovirus on it and supermarket shelves will go bare and politicians will point fingers at each other.

The media is a factor in generating the level of fear.

Is it really that hard to imagine a sample virus for research infected one of the researchers?  I'd like to know more about the doctor that sounded an early alarm, and recently died from the disease.  It's not remotely the "ridiculous" or "outlandish" theory made out to be.  Yes, there are no markers for manipulation, which I said.  But that hardly rules out the source being a research lab.

And is it really a stretch to think at least one of H1N1, SARS or CV19 originated from a Chinese infectious disease lab?  That would be one hell of multiple coincidences if not.

I saw the same.  That would put the mortality rate for flu somewhere between 0.05%-0.15%.  CV19 is @ 2.5%, though estimates for major OECD countries are more like 0.7%.

So best-case scenario it's 7X more deadly than flu.  If you had 30M people in the US get infect, we'd be talking 200,000+ deaths.  So it is a good bit worse than the flu, but IMO extremely unlikely to be a major pandemic (which, surprisingly, the definition for a pandemic appears to have more to do with geography than high numbers of infections/deaths).

Do you know that every single virus outbreak in our lifetime has caused panic?  It's got nothing to do with who's in office. It's human freqaki g out.

There is more evidence that the moon landing was a hoax than what you are accusing. So, just be sure not to call people crazy or stupid for that line of conspiracy thinking in the future.
