Josh Dobbs benched in Minnesota for Nick Mullens. Everyone who clamored for him and Berry "messing up" can all go back and delete their comments now. 

Driving home, I was listening to the local sports talk and they brought up a very interesting point. 

With the fact that the Browns have won with 4 different QB's, beating 6 of the teams in playoff contention, this team was definitely in "win now" mode. 

Taking a swing on the Watson signing, although doesn't look great, was completely justified. Had Watson returned to earlier form, which was the organizations expectation, this would, HANDS DOWN, be the best team in the AFC right now and odds on SB favorite.

Browns have never really had standout receivers. When I was a kid it was Reggie Rucker & Dave Logan who played with Sipe. Then Bernie had Langhorne & Slaughter (Ozzie but he was a TE). Then there was Josh Gordon, who smoked away his chances at being elite. Beckham was pretty much a bust here although Jarvis was solid. Andrew Berry is not strong at drafting WR's.

One thing I can say for your boys, they know how to draft receivers and edge rushers. Not so good with the secondary, other than Polamalu.

Browns depleted O-Line dodged this bullet on Sunday but will still face Montez Sweat, who is playing like a madman since being traded....

I’m old enough to remember when I was young enough to think that Kevin Johnson, Dennis Northcutt, and Quincy Morgan were HOF talents. 

LOL...friggin Northcutt dropping that pass against Pittsburgh in the playoffs. Would've sealed the win.

Now Delpit to IR, joining Mo Hurst, who was put on there yesterday. Waiting word on Pocic. All three of these guys were playing at high levels. I hope they bring back Hurst next year.

With all of these injuries it's going to be a grind to get the wins needed for the payoffs. They've been living off the "next man up" mentality but, at some point, something's got to give. If they make it, Stefanski should be strongly consider for Coach of the Year but I doubt he gets it.

Add Okoronkwo to the list. Damn. 

Okoronkwo may be finished too.

Talent-wise at receiver, sure. But seems like in recent years, they all under-achieve compared to said talent and tend to be major headcases, regardless of whether they are living up to that talent or not. Brown got "Burfict'd" into CTE Insanity land, Johnson seems to think he's a super-elite guy who hasn't been plagued by the drops and Pickens is currently showing the mental stability of a teen girl with huge self-esteem issues who just went through an ugly break-up. And that's not even getting into JuJu or Claypool and how their love of TikTok and Instagram far exceeded their desire to actually, you know, make plays.

If the league had Pittsburgh scheduled for those games, I'd have no doubt that the fix is in.
