So, the Dems will have a long road to winning on cultural issues as long as they insist on behaving like this guy.

https://x.com/thomaschattwill/status/1855252627996488082

They insist on ignoring the fact that "trans" relies on the very basic facts of biology. In order to be trans, one must first recognize that they are one sex or the other before they can make moves to portray themselves as another sex.

This is baked into the cake.

So when people like this guy wild out over the very idea that a trans woman is a biological male, they are in fact being quite contradictory to their own argument.

If I have any doubt on somebody’s gender and I have to address them, I will ask them what their name is. I will only address them in their name. If their sexuality is a problem for them it will be them or they or whatever that will make it a problem.

If not, their sexuality is of no concern to me unless they want to have sex with me. At that point it becomes an issue, and it’s my choice. Otherwise it would just be creepy or rape. I honestly don’t feel this is a political issue. It is merely one of common sense

Well, obviously as an advocate of the devil, we know you're gonna have sex with them! 🤣

All joking aside, the problem is that it can't even be talked about without people wanting to shut down and shut out any calm and reasonable discussion about it. And as the matter is increasingly becoming known as being an issue in schools, the talk needs to happen somewhere. Regardless of just how many people are dismissive of the amounts of importance, there are equally the amount of people who do take contention with it. This is where Title IX comes in and why it is a political issue. Just recently, for example, a student is under threat of suspension/expulsion from school because they pointed at a trans student.

And we should be able to talk about it without constantly having to go through the litany of qualifiers in the way you did.

You can keep saying that. It was literally one of the top reasons Trump was elected. The gays should have never let them jump on their platform. If the left was smart they’d stop celebrating mental health issues, it’s an easy win.

I think the T part was cool until politicians started taking up with activists. Now it's gone so far as to just turn people away from it all. Even the days are starting to speak out unfavorably. They want no parts of transing kids or drag queens story hour. It's repulsive to them, too.

Yet pushed on the other 99%.  Not good math.

The Trans debate was a small(er) issue, from what I saw. The reason most people voted for Trump was inflation/economy, immigration and the clusterfuck of how the Dems were/are handling international relations.

I think, like myself, a lot of people think it's bullshit that men can compete against women in sports at the higher levels. Nothing says "I suck against my own gender so I'll change it so I can win and feel good about myself" like trans men competing against women. Also not a fan of potentially allowing little kids to make the call on their gender. But at the end of the day, this wasn't a top reason for voting for him. Way down my list, along with abortion.

It’s weird that a party cow tows so much to 1% of the population going through a mental health crisis. I didn’t make the numbers up, they came from here

From the vids I've seen all the MSM talked about this one cultural having a larger impact this election than it normally would have. Even MSNBC said that the Trump ad (Kamala is for they/them, Trump is for you) played during sports had a big impact.

I think that when the Payton McNabb story came out, people decided they wanted no part of that shit happening.

It resonated heavily with men and I know a lot of younger men who are sick of the woke culture.

Men with daughters playing sports it was huge.

It was also big for women who actually played women's sports.

My 42 year old lesbian sister, the demographic you would 100% assume would always vote democratic...refuses to vote for ANYONE who is "ok" with biological men playing with women in sports.

She was a 3 sport athlete in HS, very good (all district level) at 2 of them.

In essence, the left fucked up on this issue by letting the super-progs dictate its terms. And with that group, there's no cause too small that it can't be treated like the most important thing on Earth that everyone needs to get behind or they're bad, bad people. While they self-sabotage their efforts every step of the way with their "If you aren't cool with everything, FUCK YOU!!!!!!" attitudes. AKA: The same sort of thing we're getting now with certain Ds or D-leaning TV mouthpieces playing the "we only lost because this/these demographic(s) are TOO STUPID to do what they should have!!!" card.

I mean, just the concept that a group that's as small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things as trans people was so prevalent in election ads and a focus point of the campaigns of Trump and other prominent R candidates is insane. But the left just sort of skipped the "tolerate" and "accept" stages and went right to "celebrate" and did so in ways a lot of people didn't like, such as the "born male, competes with females" stuff and the Rs kept up their proven track record in amplifying and exaggerating things, setting up a situation where a lot of people probably were swayed towards the right by that issue -- at least far more than would be swayed left by it.

Seems like this wouldn't have been much of an actual issue if trans advocates were more like, "Trans people are people, too; live and let live; be cool" and left it at that. But that doesn't make the over-the-top advocates feel like they're doing their job, so that didn't happen, we got a world where a certain portion of the population feels you committed a hate crime if you "deadname" the wrong person and that just didn't resonate all that well.

This isn’t necessarily trans, but I’m tired of trying to watch shit with my kid and seeing gay fuck stuff. We only watch hgtv and foodnetwork, and it’s just filled of gays.

Well, they generally have a better sense of style than us straights. And in all reality, I have an older gay male cousin that I will sometimes send a pic of shoes to (I have a shoe thing) in order to get his opinion on them before I buy them. Usually for the more expensive sandals/heels. He just KNOWS.

And reps to Heretic!

I will add to his very thorough insight just one more thing:

The nut bags just couldn't leave kids out of it. And that is the bridge that people will burn instead of crossing.
