LOL! I would laugh hysterically too. However, it's not actually a letterman's jacket with a chevron attached to it, it's all virtual. Your "JJ" letter and chevrons are displayed on the forum.

Avatars work, don't they?

There was a permissions issue with the avatars upload directory after switching over to the new domain but it was fixed.

Ha ha, they are really pulling out all the stops to get people to post, eh? I particularly liked this part:

"Once you earn a letter you lose your chevrons."

I see they still struggle with providing what they offer and simple positive phrasing.

And if you have the same name over there, they used you as an example of the "full jacket". You may want to watch your back, since you are their posterboy, its only a matter of time before you'll receive a certified letter from an attorney demanding you drop your name over here so as to not confuse the commoners.

It's also just something for only "Premium Members", so you have to actually pay the $12 before you qualify for the letters and chevrons. Polar Bear 73 doesn't even qualify since mods don't have to pay.

Most of you will call it "ghey" and a life-clinging attempt to strum up more posts (because you hate JJHuddle and wont admit to something good over there)....but none-the-less it is an interesting and fun idea.
No, I think it's "ghey" because it's gayer than someone actually getting a varsity jacket for things they get an actual letter for like choir and band.

What are you in this case? A varsity couch potato?

Really??? Then they should listen to me and get rid of some of the ads. Less is more sometimes. Especially when trying to load a page of posts.

I think this could be a cool feature if implemented right. I don't like the idea of getting "letters" but I can think of other "level indicators" that would make it more fun.

Justin! Fun? You can't use that word on this thread. I doubt anyone will attack you for it, but...I'm glad SOMEONE understands what I was trying to say. If I was in the Nati right now, I'd give you a big hug

......and maybe a blow job.

Here's an idea. It'll be like the movie Major League. Everyone gets a virtual supermodel. The higher our post counts get, the more clothing goes off the model. Encourages posting to see the rest.

Nice marketing attempt and I like what they are thinking, but crappy "rewards." No one is going to wear a JJ varsity jacket. Dumb. But I like there thought with the "chevrons" and "letters" next to the poster.

Jackets with GOATSE patches...might have something there.

I LOL'd at the whole Varsity Jacket thing. I can imagine some middle aged men hanging out at the State championship game with their jackets...Bragging on how many patches they have and comparing their Dicks.

If I were to implement something like this, the highest level you could achieve would be "Nick Mangold." Before that there could be a "Chuck Norris" status.

Or I would make the levels self deprecating. "Internet tough guy", "Parent's basement Legend", etc.
