Former Potter Nate Conley will be offered the East Liverpool head job when the BOE meets Monday.

I saw a couple boys head coaching hires on Daily Jeff website:

Cambridge - Mike Andrews (12 yr asst when Gene was head coach)

Buckeye Trail - Rod Grey (Trail grad that coached at Waterford and Barnesville). I did not know this job was open

FYI - Don Vogt who resigned at Cambridge, got hired as head coach at Lima Shawnee

Was Vogt forced out, or did he take the Shawnee job as an upgrade?

The Vogt situation at Cambridge is kinda difficult to explain. He wasnt a good fit from the start, he didnt know what he wasnt getting into replacing Gene Ford and when he didnt live up to the Cambridge standards he got alot of crap from people. I guess you could say he was forced out but really its just a case of someone gettng in over there head. The entire Cambrdge basketball program is a mess right now and im sure Mike Andrews can not get this program back to where it once was.

The Buckeye Trail job is kinda interesting because it wasnt ever said to be open, just one day Linn was out and Grey in. Not sure what went on here

Trust me, if those are the reasons he left Cambridge, he surely isn't going to like Shawnee much better. Cambridge was a basketball town with kids & parents who wanted to see the team win and would support it in any way. Shawnee has a bunch of kids and parents who want to win but aren't willing to do anything to make those wins happen. In the Western Buckeye League that's not gonna get it done. He'd better be a heck of a coach if he wants to win at that school.
