I need a 3 bike rack that is a trunk mount for a SUV, Chevy 4dr S10 Blazer. I don't have a trailer hitch and don't want a roof rack. I have been searching on amazon but I never trust the reviews and I will be driving an about an 18hr round trip with 3 bikes. Any suggestions?

Find a coupon and get a hitch installed. I wouldn't trust a trunk mount on that long of a trip.

I used to use one on my lexus. I just never felt they were very sturdy.

You can get coupons from the manufacturer or I might be able to hook you up with a manufacturer directly, old fraternity brother of mine owns a hitch company in Canton.

on my jeep there is a very faint outline on the rear bumper (plastic) that is meant to be cut out in order for a reciever to be installed. they are just bolted to the frame. might be something to look into...

if you weren't such a pussy, you'd rid the bike for the trip.

I have a $25 dollar trunk mount from walmart that worked great for a 1200 mile trip last year. If you want to go the hitch route, hit up the local junk yard and find a wrecked blazer with a factory hitch. It's only 4 or 6 bolts and most of the time the junk yard will pull it off for you. Probably cost $60-$75 bucks. If I had some extra cash laying around though, I'd go with a nice thule or yakima roof rack set up.

I am getting a hitch installed tomorrow morning. 2 bike stores recommended that I do not use the trunk mount for a SUV because different from a car it will really just be the straps holding it on since a SUV is straight up and down and on the cars it bends over the trunk.
