Wtov9 out of Steubenville just released the 2010 Big Red football schedule on the six oclock news tonight. I had to leave the house before they announced it. I'm not sure if espn or cnn covered it or not. I know fairwoodking was asking about it, so maybe he can go to their website to find out.

I love how Big Red raped T-town and Wellsville out of the Thursday night game.

Big Red has been opening the season on a Thursday night for many years. Since you are a Creek fan, you should know that we played Creek on Thursday in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Dover and Massillon have been doing the same thing recently.

For those of you who don't want to bother to check with Channel 9, the schedule is as follows:

Week 1: Inkster (MI)
Week 2: Akron Buchtel (OH)
Week 3: Brooke (WV)
Week 4: Washington St. John's (DC)
Week 5: at Morgantown (WV)
Week 6: Wheeling Park (WV)
Week 7: at Massillon (OH)
Week 8: Youngstown Ursuline (OH)
Week 9: Buffalo St. Joe's (NY)
Week 10: Tonawanda O'Hara (NY)

That's three teams from Ohio, three from WV, two from New York, one from MI, and one from DC.

That's also eight home games and two on the road.

Inkster is on Thursday night and the rest are on Fridays.

At least this gives us something to talk about.

Does anyone know anything about St. John's? All I know is that we have never played them before and that the Catholic schools in DC tend to be good.

We have opened on a Thursday night since 2002. Long before anyone else in the valley was even thinking about it.

I do think that they got turf recently though....from their pics on their website.

But hey, they are one of the few high schools with a "multi-purpose" facility, lol

Check your facts T-town and Wellsville were playing this game before Big Red ever thought about it. Big Red stole it because that game was drawing a ton of people because it was the only game in town. Big Red can not think of anything on their own.

Big Red played at least on occasion on Thursday nights as far back as the mid-1990's. We played a team from Canada on a Thursday night around 1995.

Looks like we are playing five Div. I teams and two Div. II teams. That will be worth a lot of computer points.

IF you win... Sorry, I don't see a 9-1 season this year :)

What about the other 3 games?

What Div. is Ursuline? 5 or 4?

NAZE,

Not trying to pry, but why so "pro Creek" and against Big Red right now? I thought you were ready to take your kids there?

Creek is a good school for the most part like I said before there were a just a lot of problems when I was there and hopefully those problems will be gone by the time my kids come through.

Also I just can't stand it when anyone thinks that they are the be all end all like some of the BR supporters on here act.

No one is forcing you and SOS to post on a Big Red thread.

No East Liverpool on the schedule... they always play each other.

Did EL decide they had had enough or something?

What hype? I support my school just as you should.
