Wow, you sound cocky, you do realize that you are slamming on the guy's....tone. Right? I mean, some of the guys on here try to find anything to bitch about concerning LBJ, but his tone? Get real.

you can tell a lot by what someone says by the tone of their voice or the way they say something. like if he said it with joking attitude or smile on his face it wouldnt be cocky. but he didnt say it that way. the combination of what he said and the way he said it made it sound cocky.skank wrote: Wow, you sound cocky, you do realize that you are slamming on the guy's....tone. Leboob has a cast around him now that is better than MJ had when he won his first title. If he can't LEAD this team to a championship with the talent he has around him, then he's no leader.

Is there video of the interview?Glory Days wrote:i think it was the how he said it though. he could have said "i am not really worried about the scoring title, i would rather win a championship" etc. but he didnt. he also said it with a pretty cocky tone. had he just said it in a normal tone and said how he would rather in a championship, it wouldnt be that big a sound bite.SQ_Crazies wrote:Exactly. But he's just saying that he's not worried about the scoring title. He was probably asked if he's going for the scoring title, and he responded honestly. He doesn't care, he has bigger fish to fry this year. He may win it anyways.Non wrote: MJ won scoring titles every year he won an NBA Championship.
So it's a myth being thrown around that by going for the scoring title you're losing track of the goal of winning a championship.
Both can be pursued and accomplished by the best player in the league.

I can agree with this. I don't think LBJ is the 'most' skilled player in the NBA but he's improved tenfold as a shooter and defender and has always been an excellent passer. His sick combo of size and athleticism just puts him in another class.SQ_Crazies wrote: Nope, you absolutely can't fault him for being a freak of nature--but it doesn't mean he doesn't have skills. To say he isn't as skilled as anyone in the league is stupid. I think he's every bit as skilled as Kobe, Durant, Melo, Wade, his freakish size is what puts him over the top when compared to those guys.
Agreed with this as well. Let's face it, if Kobe had said the exact same thing, you'd have Cavs fans jumping all over him about what he said. Honestly, Kobe could have said the same exact thing and I don't think it would be any more or less valid. Same goes for Wade and Durant. If Kobe and Lebron have games that tip a 7 on a given night and each goes for 45, Wade and Durant can both have games that tip at 10:30 and each of them can say, "fuck it" and go get 50. It is true vice versa as well.SQ_Crazies wrote: Jesus Christ.
If Kobe said this people would say "look at how much of a winner he is, he doesn't care about personal accolades", but since it's LeBron, he's just a cocky prick. Same old story. Not surprising to see people stretch beyond their limits to find a fault in LeBron though--nothing new.
Kobe has never been the physical specimen that LBJ is, but to say he has no athletic advantage over some guys in the NBA is stupid. His days of doing shit like this are done but I still think he's one of the best athletes in the league and there was definitely a time in the past 5 or 10 years where he was an elite athlete in comparison to his NBA peers.2quik4u wrote: Face it Kobe is more skilled then Lebron. Kobe has barely any (if any at all) athletic advantage over some of the guys in the nba but still night in and out he is one of the best.

You don't get to where Kobe's been without being a great athlete.

LOL, exactly. Watch that video, if you have a problem with what he said then you're just a hater.skank wrote: Thanks for confirming that it was really nothing.
And sorry, call it cocky or whatever you want to call it, but if you disagree with what he said at the end then you're not paying attention.

it was just a stupid comment. i dont disagree with it because any NBA player can go out and win the scoring title if they shot the ball every time their team had the ball.

Any NBA player? You sure about that? A coach would pull a player if that's all he was doing, but if you are Lebron James, are you really going to pull one of the best players to ever play the game?Glory Days wrote: it was just a stupid comment. i dont disagree with it because any NBA player can go out and win the scoring title if they shot the ball every time their team had the ball.

LBJ has a slight side of arrogance and cockiness. But all in all, it's far from a douchebaggery arrogance and cockiness. No different than Kobe, Magic, MJ, or Bird.Glory Days wrote:you can tell a lot by what someone says by the tone of their voice or the way they say something. like if he said it with joking attitude or smile on his face it wouldnt be cocky. but he didnt say it that way. the combination of what he said and the way he said it made it sound cocky.skank wrote: Wow, you sound cocky, you do realize that you are slamming on the guy's....tone. All 4 knew they were the shit, but for the most part, handled the public with the right blend of humility.

LOL, every top level athlete is arrogant. Look at some of the arrogance spewed here on this site from a bunch of couch potatoes. They are arrogant, they're one in 400 in the world doing something, rich and society has determined that you're a badass if you're good at sports. You don't get that far without being arrogant. Even the soft spoken guys like Derek Fisher are arrogant.

If you're good at what you do, you better be arrogant/cocky..
If not, somebody will knock you off sooner or later.
Some of you guys are suffering from "littlemans disease".
