The players I listed do feel like shooting--that's what they do.

Hence my point.

Absolutely. He would have lowered assists but put up crazy scoring numbers.

Your point that you dont think any of them could average 35 a game if they wanted?

Carmelo, Kobe, Durant... NONE of them have the overall skill set that LeBron does. It's so fucking obvious it's not even worth a debate.

IF Lebron wanted to, he'd be averaging 38PPG. BUT, he's more worried about winning than personal accolades and he's also more worried about getting hsi entire TEAM involved, not just his own #'s.

Case closed.
Kobe has better skills then lebron. Lebron is more way more athletic then kobe.

I agree 100% on Kobe being more skilled than LeBron. I would also say Kevin Durant has more skills.
Put Kevin Durant's game into LeBron's body and it's over for the world. Put LBJ in Durant's body... And I'm not sure he's anywhere as good as Durant.

LeBron James is the finest human specimen I've seen play athletics since Shaq. HE'S THE SIZE OF KARL MALONE. This has so much to do with his game it's ridiculous.

How many plays a night does he make that are based on freakish athleticism?

I rest my case.

So LeBron only has his athleticism, right. I wonder if LeBron just uses his pure athleticism to shoot a better 3P % than Kobe.

Agreed with this, but I think Wade, Kobe, and Durant could all put up 35-40 a night as well. Durant had that crazy string of 25+ games, and a few years ago didn't Kobe score 40+ in like 10-12 straight games I think?

LBJ is a skilled player, but I think his ridiculous numbers and his career that has from day one not only been lightyears ahead of the curve but has blown the curve to pieces have more to do with him hitting triple 7s on the genetic slot machine- which you can't fault him for.

Nope, you absolutely can't fault him for being a freak of nature--but it doesn't mean he doesn't have skills. To say he isn't as skilled as anyone in the league is stupid. I think he's every bit as skilled as Kobe, Durant, Melo, Wade, his freakish size is what puts him over the top when compared to those guys.

MJ won scoring titles every year he won an NBA Championship.

So it's a myth being thrown around that by going for the scoring title you're losing track of the goal of winning a championship.

Both can be pursued and accomplished by the best player in the league.

Exactly. But he's just saying that he's not worried about the scoring title. He was probably asked if he's going for the scoring title, and he responded honestly. He doesn't care, he has bigger fish to fry this year. He may win it anyways.

i think it was the how he said it though. he could have said "i am not really worried about the scoring title, i would rather win a championship" etc. but he didnt. he also said it with a pretty cocky tone. had he just said it in a normal tone and said how he would rather in a championship, it wouldnt be that big a sound bite.

Jesus Christ.

If Kobe said this people would say "look at how much of a winner he is, he doesn't care about personal accolades", but since it's LeBron, he's just a cocky prick. Same old story. Not surprising to see people stretch beyond their limits to find a fault in LeBron though--nothing new.

It's easy for fans to accept, maybe even applaud, LeBron's answer to this question -- scoring title vs. NBA title.

Any Cleveland fan certainly wants to be comforted by the fact that his focus is entirely on winning the NBA title. Or least he better say that when approached about the subject.

I do think it's the most important thing to him.

However, I still think as most great athletes he wants to achieve many other accolades. By saying that he doesn't care about winning the scoring title, it gives him an out clause if by chance he doesn't win that contest. Instead of the other guy doing better it was because LeBron just didn't want it. That's how it could be taken negatively.

I don't know if he thought it out that much but it's a little bit cocky, as Glory Days suggested.

Right now he only has one scoring title and zero NBA titles, where as MJ has multiple in both categories. 10 scoring titles, 6 NBA titles and 6 NBA titles in the same year he won scoring titles.

If LeBron is capable of going after one or the other or both and delivering, it remains to be seen.

You're reading way too far into a question answered on the fly in one of many interviews.

What do you expect him to say? That he couldn't win it if he wanted to?

"i am not really worried about the scoring title, i would rather win a championship"

"the scoring title means nothing if i dont win a championship"

"the success of the team is more important that winning the scoring title"

"basketball is a team sport and my goal is to win a championship, not a scoring title"

shall i go on?

So... any of these would have met your criteria? Did LBJ get your list of proper responses?

Face it Kobe is more skilled then Lebron. Kobe has barely any (if any at all) athletic advantage over some of the guys in the nba but still night in and out he is one of the best.

Please elaborate on how he is "more skilled." I'm interested in hearing this.
