To be completely honest with you writer...what you believe really doesn't matter in this situation.Only the facts do

Oh no,he was around a communist when he was 5...I sure that makes him communist

You're wrong about this. There is a loud minority that disagrees with me, but I think that the country is coming around to the fact that our government had to do something about health care.
And so ... doing the worst things they could possibly do is good? Wow.

Are you now talking about his early days with his communist father, or are you still on the topic of his communist mentor?

Both....just being around someone who is a communist doesn't make you a communist

But considering he only met his father once...I doubt he was influenced by him

Character and past actions matter.

Obama lacks the former and has been proven to lie when it serves his purpose.

Those are facts, too.

The health care bill has a lot of good things for people like me. I like the bill and I think a lot of others do, too. Besides, by the fall when the elections roll around, the sky will not have fallen and the American people will understand how good the bill really is.

I think the threats being issued against people for a differing political opinion are shameful. Some of them have gone beyond the issue of shame. They are hateful and baseless. The simple fact is that the persons making these claims simply hate these folks and can't really respond to them in any other way, because they are so blinded by their personal prejudices that the truth is left completely out of the picture. My personal view is that there is really no place for these slurs and attacks, regardless from which side of the political spectrum they initiate.

What President or Political figure doesn't lie writer?

So by you're definition Ronald Regan,Bush 41,Slick Willie, and W all had terrible character, because they all lied much more than President Obama ever will. He told you exactly what he was going to do during the campaign, and now that he is doing it,you don't like it. Make up your damn mind writer, you can't have it both ways

Also, show me one of these HUGE lies you keep talking about

One lie, related to this, was that Ayers was "just another guy from the neighborhood" when, in fact, Obama had been serving with him on the board of Annenberg (and worked on several projects together).

That was to diffuse criticism of his friendship with Ayers during the heart of the campaign. And it was a whopper. Had Obama come clean about how much he worked with Ayers, it likely would have been a much bigger issue during the campaign.

Another that is relevant now is Obama saying how he did not want a single-payer health care system. He was emphatic about that when it was a huge criticism of the original health care bill.

Then tapes started showing up that clearly show he has always been for a single-payer system and, in fact, knew that getting to such a system had to be done incrementally (as this bill will likely do in the long run).

There's two pretty big lies.

Then there's the lie about having the negotiations on health care televised on C-SPAN, and the lie about how transparent his administration would be...and the lie about never hiring lobbyists to be part of his administration, and the one about how bills would be posted for five days before they got signed.

There's a web site that keeps track of all of his lies (so far) and it's up to about 158 at last count. I can link it if you like. They've documented all of them pretty well.

As for pointing out other presidents and their possible lies -- you know what? I DON'T CARE AND IT'S NOT RELEVANT TO THIS DISCUSSION.

We're talking about Obama and nobody else here.

And yes, it absolutely does mean he lacks character.

But then we knew that was likely the case when he got elected.

Surprise, surprise. You like legislation that gives YOU something. Even if it's against our American principles. Truly great people don't like something because of the benefit they'll receive, they either like or dislike it based upon its merit.
