Holmgren has three super bowl appearances on his resume. He brings instant credibility to this organization.
Does he get to bring Brett Favre in his prime to Cleveland?

Look, 3 super Bowl appearances isn't anything to sneeze at. But you have to consider that he did have one of the best QBs of all time on his team. You also have to consider what he did AFTER he no longer had Brett Favre. Just my $.02

Holmgren's teams finished with a winning record 14 out of the 17 seasons he was coach or GM (or both). In Seattle, 7 of his 10 seasons were above .500 and the Seahawks made the playoffs 6 of those years. Obviously none of those were with Brett Favre. Also, football is a team game. Having Favre in his prime certainly helps, but that alone didn't get Holmgren's teams into the Super Bowl.

Three Super Bowl appearances, a 161-111 lifetime record, and 12 playoff appearances in 17 seasons dwarfs anything that this franchise has seen since it's return in 1999. I would have his resume and experience over just about anyone else in football, and definitely over anyone who is on the payroll in Cleveland right now.

I really don't know why anyone of Holgrem's staure would want to get into this mess. He would have to have absolute, complete, and total control over all football operations, and I don't know if he would get it. That, plus a wheelbarrow full of cash.

Doesn't need the cash imo. Cleveland isn't going to build the team through FA, they have to overpay to bring in good talent.

They have 11 draft picks that could change the franchise or continue it down this horrible path.

Dont forget who was in Seattles division when he was racking up those records. He won the division by default most years. This will be another mistake by the lake.

Holmgren said on his weekly radio show on Seattle's KJR that he has not yet spoken to Browns owner Randy Lerner, who is looking for a "serious, credible leader" football authority to run his struggling team. However, Holmgren did indicate he would welcome the chance to take on a rebuilding project like the 1-8 Browns.

"It takes a tremendous amount of energy, but there is a certain appeal there," the 61-year-old Holmgren. "There's something in my personality, too, that taking on those types of projects, that kind of gets me going. But there's a lot of work to do.

BR is saying that Charlie Casserly will be the guy that they sign as VP/GM. That is all the talk on the OBR.
