Good article!!

Can I get a round of applause for the Big Ten, please? We'll do it the Midwestern way, firmly but respectfully, and, in true Midwestern style, we won't say anything negative about the overrated Big East,......

.....The Big Ten is sending three teams to the Sweet 16, more than any other conference. And two of those teams did it without their best players.

Not bashing the b10 at all, but seriously does the b10 always have to ask for respect? The b10 is lucky they dont just have one team in the tourney. MSU won by a buzzer beater and Purdue won in OT. They are not head and shoulders above anyone. The b10's biggest win is over a #4 seed.

That, and the tournament is less a test of conference superiority, and more a result of match-ups and individual team strengths.

^^^ Leave it to the BIGGEST SEC homer boy to be the first to chirp in with bs! First one to chest thump SEC football...first to bash Big Ten. Is anyone surprised?

Good article, and on the point.

Oh my god you're such a fucking hypocrite.

"I'm not BASHING the Big 10 at all" and then you go ahead and spend the rest of your post bashing us, saying "the b10 is lucky they dont just have one team in the tourney"

Shut the fuck up and get the fuck out of here, Mr. I root for UK in basketball and LSU in football because my life's dream is to one day be able to root for all 12 SEC teams at once without anyone finding out.

As for the Big 10, I think they have proven themselves to be one of the top conferences this year. No one ever claimed the Big 10 to have any "elite" teams this year like a Syracuse, Kansas or Kentucky. But the thing that prepares the Big 10 teams for the tournament moreso than other conferences is that every single game is a dog fight. The Big 10 regular season isn't won by talent, it's won by the team that executes the best. And because of that, they are better prepared come tournament time, and it's also a reason why teams like Cornell and Northern Iowa can advance. They execute more effectively than teams that rely more heavily on talent.

I take a lot of heat for it down here, but I hate the SEC. I've seen both the SEC and the Big Ten firsthand and there is no bigger group of chest-thumpers than this conference collectively. It's nice to see the Big Ten pull through despite all the injuries. Even as a Michigan fan I'll be pulling hard for OSU against Tennessee this weekend, just as I did when they played in the Rose Bowl.

My name is ihslep and I root for OSU because UF got beat in the first round. You DEFINITELY have room to talk, liking 2 teams in each sport from 2 conferences who both have had recent success in both sports. Hmmmmmmm, pot meet kettle. And btw, your mommy needs to give you a bar of soap to clean your mouth, oh wait she graduated from OSU so she wouldnt know how......oh wait, or was that your dad?
Dude you are comical....and obviously have anger issues. Tone it down on the message boards.

Stop fucking crying cats.

Both of my parents graduated from OSU and my dad's brother graduated from Florida, as did his wife.

Like I've said numerous times, I root for both teams in ALL sports, those are the only 2 teams I root for, I don't change my team depending on success.

I rooted for Florida to beat BYU but knew they wouldn't so I picked BYU in my bracket, and I currently attend OSU so obviously I'm going to root for and care for them moreso than Florida.

But YOU on the other hand are a fucking hyopcrite as evidenced by my first post on this thread, and it's truly sad that one day you will root for all 12 SEC teams.

You seriously like UK in basketball because LSU sucks in that sport and LSU in football because UK sucks in that sport.

To equate that to the Big 10? OSU in football and MSU in basketball. And I know NO ONE like that.

So to you, I say fuck off because you're wrong here, you'll always be an anti Big 10 basher, and it's sad you can't ever contribute anything meaningful to any thread on this entire message board.

Cool.

ihslep still showing class. What a crybaby with issues. Maybe you should add in Duke for another favorite team since UF and OSU's titles in bball together dont add up to UK's. Just a thought.

I cant believe people care about conferences in the postseason. I want Purdue, Wisky, Illinois to lose every game, and especially in he postseason! Why do you want teams you hate to do well because it will make a conference looks better? Seems silly.

I dont even want to root for them OOC either, but for my own teams sake I understand that it may be beneficial for them to be ranked higher.

In fact, I only actively root for 2 Big Ten teams Northwestern because they just need support and MSU because I love Izzo and the way that team has always played. Plus the fact that Crean is in theory going to have a program mimicking Izzo's.

Totally agree.

That being said, I don't have a problem giving the Big 10 some credit as their teams have had an impressive run in the NCAA's for the most part. And they're getting quite a bit of media love now (and deservedly so IMO).

It's too bad that some don't realize that you can give one conference the credit it deserves without pointing out the shortcomings of another at the same time.
